Has seen plenty of action this year, his most recent success being over this trip at Chelmsford (AW) in February. Out of sorts largely in higher grades since then, he still looks in need of assistance from the handicapper.

Has been on a good run of form since joining this stable, winning three times from six attempts. Up a further 7lb for a ready C&D success last month but still likely to emerge as a leading player.

Beaten just one rival home in two starts over 1m since dead-heating for first in a 7f contest at Brighton (good to firm) in August. Is rated 2lb higher for this contest.

Not much to draw on from two recent runs back from a 14-month layoff, beaten 5½L over a mile at Newcastle 15 days ago, needs to find plenty more.

Lightly-raced Paco Boy gelding, has yet to finish out of the money in four AW starts, including a win over 6f here in April. Competitive over a mile last month here from this rating and should go well.

Hasn't been seen out for the best part of 11 months, but looked a useful recruit to the AW ranks on both his starts, winning a 7f maiden at Wolverhampton with a bit in hand. Open to improvement but possible he will need this after absence.

Twice a winner over shorter trips as a juvenile for Godolphin and also scored for this yard (under this rider) over C&D in July. Below that level twice since but couldn't be ruled out on best form.

Has two wins from 11 starts on turf, though sole previous try on AW at Dundalk was tame. In decent form when last spotted at Salisbury (7f, good) in August, interesting on return to artificial surface.

Won a maiden on AW at Newcastle over a mile last September, not looked a likely winner in either handicap start this year, drops back in trip on first run for 146 days, market check will reveal more.

Has done his best work on turf this season, with both AW runs being underwhelming. Has won on artificial surface at Wolverhampton over this trip however and mark is falling, so not discounted.

Has been running decent races in better grades than this through the summer, will have to produce his best stuff now back on AW but must hold some claims off decreasing mark with claimer also helping.

Supported in the market for all three maidens over a mile, no surprise given connections. Hasn't been that far away in any of them and one to bear in mind down in trip for this handicap bow.

Owner of a useful AW strike rate (3-13) and while not on best form recently on turf, is on a fair mark coming back to this sphere and is a previous C&D winner.

Well held in three starts since winning over this trip at Wolverhampton in August last year. Handicap mark is falling but last month's Chelmsford effort was discouraging.

Forecasts

Cliffs Of Capri (7/2), Noble Conquest (5/1), Family Fortunes (6/1), High Acclaim (7/1), Siege Of Boston (9/1), Gothic Empire (9/1), Rebel De Lope (12/1), Mandarin (14/1), North Creek (20/1), Human Nature (33/1), Outer Space (33/1), Poet's Beauty (33/1), Honiara (33/1), Arlecchino's Leap (66/1)

Verdict

NORTH CREEK won over this C&D in June in this grade and, while not able to replicate that effort on turf since, his best form has routinely come on the AW. He may be underestimated in the market by virtue of those turf efforts since but, with his rider's claim, he's effectively just 1lb higher than his last winning mark and could run well at a likely bigger price. Siege Of Boston scored in decisive fashion over C&D last month and a 7lb hike is not certain to halt his progress while Family Fortunes also has scope to get involved in the shootout. High Acclaim and the Stoute-trained handicap debutant Noble Conquest are also worth paying some attention to.
