Fairly modest gelding, remains a maiden after 19 starts and suffered latest defeat over 5f at Musselburgh on the first of the month. Easily passed over.

Captain Gerrard gelding made a decent fist of things over 6f on AW at Chelmsford on debut in February. Off since, worth a market check here.

Twice went close in 7f maidens at Thirsk and Catterick (both good to firm) in the summer, drops in trip off a break but form puts him well in the mix for this.

Some promise in maidens in 2016 but backwards steps in both runs this year, trailing home last over 6f at Leicester earlier in the month on soft ground.

Just the two starts for Alan Swinbank, running close fourth in 1m Thirsk maiden in April, from which the form has worked out well. Respected on return / stable debut.

Didn't live up to expectations for Tom Dascombe and will attempt to defy a 541-day absence here on bow for new handler. Best watched this afternoon.

Didn't beat rival home in two turf starts, eased down and failed to complete the course over 7f on Wolverhampton's AW when last spotted 116 days ago, impossible to recommend on form.

Formerly trained in France by Andre Fabre, useful second on British debut at Catterick (7f, good to soft) last month and entitled to be in thick of this.

Power gelding cost €28,000 as a yearling, is a brother to several winners including 6f winner Master Speaker. Market likely to determine expectations on debut.

Forecasts

Vive La Difference (11/8), Envisaging (3/1), Give It Some Teddy (7/2), Dandys Denouement (11/2), Limoncino (8/1), Captain Bond (11/1), Faulkwood (11/1), Wind Turbine (25/1), Lucata (25/1), Mighty Bond (40/1), Henrietta's Dream (100/1), Ninedarter (100/1)

Verdict

Envisaging sets the bar on form but has had plenty decent chances to get off the mark already and is hard to recommend having failed to grasp any of them. French import Vive La Difference made a good start in this country at Catterick to be second recently and may improve, but the nod goes to DANDYS DENOUEMENT, twice a runner-up over 7f at Thirsk and Catterick earlier in the summer and fancied to get off the mark on this return from a short break. Newcomer Limoncino, a half-sister to Limato, is well worth a look too along with the returning Give It Some Teddy on debut for new connections.
