A 600,000 gns Galileo colt, got off the mark in 1m4f Curragh maiden in July and should give Mick Kinane a fine spin around. The one to beat in this.
Top-class chaser, found things too hot at Gowran Park recently in valuable handicap but previous hurdles run at Listowel bodes well for this challenge.
Maiden hurdle winner at Wexford on St Patrick's Day, well held here on handicap bow in April. Off since.

Left previous form behind to score in 2m5½f maiden hurdle at Downpatrick last month, has trainer Conor O'Dwyer taking over in the saddle for this event.

Six-time winner on the Flat in his career but not scored since 2014. Not ruled out completely in this context.

Long-standing maiden whose efforts this year are no source of encouragement, charity may be the best he can hope for with the popular Luke Harvey on his back.

Ran well enough over this trip at Nottingham in June, winner over hurdles last month and not out of the question he could land this.
Went very close on debut last June in 2m Tramore bumper, though not really building on it in four runs since.

AW maiden in three starts in Britain, weakened right out of contention to finish last in Roscommon maiden over 1m4f last month on debut for this yard.

Age: 10|  Weight: 12-0| J: Paul Carberry| T: N Meade

Very smart over hurdles/fences, last spotted running a cracker in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham in March. Would go down a treat if Paul Carberry can deliver him to swoop home and claim the spoils.

Winner of a 1m2f Fairyhouse claimer last month on heavy ground before solid AW effort at Dundalk (1m4f), though was eased right down back at that track 13 days ago. Could have a say.

In fair form over fences earlier in the year, has been off since April and hard to know what can be expected in this sort of challenge on return.

Seemingly in decline this year for Sir Mark Prescott, was once a very smart Flat stayer and has interestingly switched to Gordon Elliott's yard now. Norman Williamson on board and is one to pay real attention to.

Not disgraced on sole Flat outing at Thurles last month (1m4f, soft to heavy), fell over fences back there last week.

Won his maiden over this trip at Killarney in July 2016 for Ballydoyle, maiden hurdle winner at Wexford last month for Joseph O'Brien and could be capable of putting Charlie Swan in contention here.

Achieved the rare feat of winning both the Triumph Hurdle and the four-miler at Cheltenham with his success at Prestbury Park in March, off since being pulled up in the Irish National and may not be primed today.

Verdict

A novel event to kick proceedings off and, given he's dominating at the top level, no reason to go against Aidan O'Brien now. He saddles AIR SUPREMACY for the legendary Mick Kinane here and having won a Curragh maiden over 1m4f in July the son of Galileo could be too strong for this field. Ex-Ballydoyle inmate Successor could make things interesting with Charlie Swan up while Pallasator is an eye-catcher on his first outing in Gordon Elliott's care with Norman Williamson for company. There will be jubilation amongst those in attendance should Paul Carberry manage to thrust Monksland into the lead in typically dramatic late fashion.
