20-1 and made a quiet enough debut at Kempton (1m, AW) earlier in the month. Drps in trip for this second attempt. Should be able to improve, though need to see more from him before he can be recommended.

Full-brother to winners Shimba Hills (1m-1m2f, inc. at two) and Partheon (Czech 6f two-year-old). Half-brother to four winners inc. Bateleur (5f-6f, inc at two) and Foster's Road (1m2f-2m). Market check suggested, though probably one to watch today.

6-1 and perhaps not quite as good as the SP suggested he might be on debut when beaten almost 5L at Kempton (7f, AW) last month. Could make a significant improvement for the experience and the market could again be a good guide.

George Villiers123

Sent off favourite, though ran green and under the circumstances it was still a good debut effort to finish 1¼L third at Sandown (7f, good) in June. Has been given time since then and it would be no surprise if he proved good enough today.

16-1 and last but one of a 13-runner field (beaten 11L) on debut at Kempton (7f, AW) earlier in the month. Will need a sizeable leap forward to take a hand today on that evidence, but no reason why he can't improve.

Closely related to the 1m2f-1m4f winner Ajman Princess (inc Group 1) and half-brother to winners Naqshabban (7f-1m4f) and Cape Byron (7f at two/1m), out of a 1m½f-1m2½f winner. Lovely pedigree and one to note in the market ahead of his debut.

66-1 and beaten 22L when 11th of 12 on his Kempton debut (7f, AW) last month. Taken out of a race here since then due to soft ground, so conditions perhaps not ideal and looks one to watch again this time.

Horse silk
3/1
Handled cut well enough on debut when beaten just ¾L at Yarmouth (7f, soft) last month. Showed signs of greenness there, so probably be capable of better and if so then he should be in the mix again this time.

(2)
Horse silk
10/1
20-1 and hung persistently left in the closing stages when beaten 8¼L on debut at Redcar (7f, good to soft) last month. Should be capable of better, though is perhaps more likely to be winning a race in the future, rather than today.

Forecasts

George Villiers (6/4), Breath Caught (5/2), Prime Minister (3/1), Ostilio (6/1), Accessor (7/1), Compulsive (8/1), Rare Groove (10/1), Mom Said (50/1), Chikoko Trail (50/1), Pass Mark (50/1), Percy Prosecco (100/1)

Verdict

Breath Caught shrugged off a slightly disappointing debut to go close last time and his Sandown run is probably the best form on offer here, so he is very much respected. However, GEORGE VILLIERS did equally well in context, in that he ran green but was not far off overcoming that on debut at the same track. He may just have more improvement in him for that and is preferred. Prime Minister looks next best of those to have raced, while newcomer Ostilio is well worth checking out in the market and potential improver Compulsive another to whom the same applies.
  1. George Villiers
  2. Breath Caught
  3. Ostilio
