Scored over 1m on debut in France (good to soft) last year and later proved his stamina in Listed company over there. Off the track since May prior to this debut for new yard and may be able to acquit himself well from this mark.
Scored over C&D (good to soft) last year from 6lb lower and beaten just 1L from a 1lb lower mark on his seasonal return at Sandown in July. This is a tougher contest and he was well beaten in a similar one last time, so needs raise the bar again.
Stays 3m over hurdles and was last seen winning a Beverley maiden over what was a barely adequate 1m4f (soft) last month. Acts on a sound surface, though would ideally like a little ease, but interesting stepped up to this trip.
All three of his wins have come at 1m4f, including one here in June from 3lb lower. Unexposed at this trip after just the one try, when a ½L runner-up at Wolverhampton last time. Would prefer the ground to be on the fast side of good.
Has enjoyed a good year with a couple of hurdle wins and two decent Flat efforts here over C&D on his last two starts, including a 3L win last time. Up 5lb for that and in better company, but can't be ruled out.
Losing run goes back to 2014 and he is clearly not the force of old. However, he has shown enough this season, including over C&D in July, to has at least an each-way chance, though he is clearly vulnerable for win purposes.
Very useful hurdler who ended last season in a Grade 1 and has shown that he has some ability on the Flat too. Won over 2m at Nottingham (soft) in May and came back well after a break at Newmarket (2m2f) last time. Up another 4lb but has claims.
Scored over 1m2f (good) at Doncaster in April before being held over 1m4f from just 1lb higher than today. Step up this far in trip will ask plenty of questions of his stamina and he has it to prove in terms of answers.
All three of his wins have been over 1m4f on good ot faster ground. Has been well held on both tries over 1m6f, so he is far from certain to get home over this trip. On a decent mark if he does stay and a market check is suggested.
Has done well since being gradually stepped up in trip to around 2m as this season has gone on. Runner-up at both Thirsk (good to firm) and Newcastle (AW) on his last two starts and needs to find a bit more from 3lb higher today.
Scored over 2m at Chester last year and went close from today's mark next time. Has only seen the racecourse twice this term, going well from 2lb lower at Haydock (1m6f, soft) last time. This is tougher but has each-way claims.
Sole turf start to date was on debut last year and has since been kept to the All Weather tracks, winning twice at Chelmsford over slightly shorter. Stays 2m but off the boil just lately and comes here with a few things to prove.
Was off the track from when breaking his maiden at Chelmsford in April last year until being beaten 6L at Leicester (1m4f, good to soft) last month on his first start for this yard. Dropped 3lb but has stamina to prove and others make more appeal.
Broke her duck at Pontefract last time (1m4f, heavy) on her 12th start. Stayed on strongly there and has already shown that she gets this trip. 3lb rise makes this that little bit tougher, however, and she will need to be near her best to follow up.
Form has dipped a little since a couple of good efforts at Goodwood in May, winning over 1m6f (good to firm) and being beaten just 1¼L (2m, good) next time, which was from 4lb higher than today. Claims if on song, but carries risks.
Ripon specialist who has won over a similar trip there in the past. Added further success at that venue over 1m6f in August, but held from this mark twice since then and others makes greater appeal in this grade.

Coeur de Lion (5/4), Captain Navarre (7/1), Blue Hussar (7/1), October Storm (12/1), Opposition (12/1), Angel Gabrial (12/1), Always Resolute (14/1), River Icon (16/1), On Fire (16/1), Graceful Lady (16/1), Dalshand (20/1), Stormin Tom (25/1), Slunovrat (25/1), Arrowtown (33/1), Archippos (33/1), Icefall (33/1), Lost The Moon (66/1)
Another open betting heat where COEUR DE LION is fancied to continue with the promise that he has shown so far in this sphere. Dalshand is an interesting runner at the head of the list and a market check is suggested to gauge any confidence in his chance. River Icon is well worth a try over this trip, while October Storm would certainly have claims if he could run to his ability. Any further drying of the ground would help Opposition, while others to consider include Icefall, Blue Hussar and On Fire.
