Goes well here and on a very handy mark just now. Not really been in top form since joining his current yard, though.
Never tried over a mile before and setting out for a new yard today. Best watched on first start for almost a year.
Potentially well treated from 3lb lower than his last winning mark but recent form has been uninspiring and a big leap of faith required in assuming he can take advantage of the handicapper relenting.
Dual C&D winner, so has to be respected on the pick of his efforts. Still 3lb higher than for his last success and needs to significantly better the form of his last three starts.
Highly rated as a three-year-old but that a distant memory now. Did win a claimer at Wolverhampton in March but handicap form has been poor subsequently.
Joined his current yard in April but has looked in the grip of the handicapper all the time. Still needs to run up to his career best and recent form suggests he'll find a few too good.
Tries a new trip after poor efforts this season and while a mile should suit on pedigree, recent form on the racecourse causes a bit of concern. Others more appealing.
Goes well on the AW (two wins at Wolverhampton and one at Chelmsford already in the book) but recent debut for his current yard created the impression he's lost his way a tad. Now has something to prove.
Recorded his best effort for a while when tried over 1m for the first time in a similar race at Chelmsford last week. Useful claimer taking a handy 5lb off his back strengthens the case for a big run. One of the likelier winners.
Seven furlong specialist that ran well on his only previous visit to Kempton but has never won over this trip, so significant enough doubts to cast the net elsewhere.
Form in maidens interesting enough to suggest the filly has plenty to offer now she goes handicapping. Less exposed than most and well worth considering for a speculative interest.
Not disgraced over 10f the last twice and had previously posted a solid effort over C&D, which bodes well for a place in the frame at least here. Looks an interesting contender for the yard's AW campaign whatever happens this evening.
Form took a bit of a dip after winning at Wolverhampton in June. Had a short break so possible he'll be more alert but still needs to up his game after finishing last of eight at Epsom when last seen out.
Lightly raced but form in handicaps only modest so far. Plenty to prove just now.
Forecasts
Precious Angel (9/2), African Blessing (5/1), Ogbourne Downs (6/1), Squire (6/1), Choral Clan (8/1), Isstoora (8/1), Golden Guest (10/1), Luang Prabang (10/1), Lacan (16/1), Scribner Creek (20/1), Music Major (20/1), Muthraab Aldaar (20/1), South Sea Belle (33/1), Fullon Clarets (66/1)
There was a lot to like about the effort posted by AFRICAN BLESSING at Chelmsford last Friday and he may have found a new avenue to explore now he's probved himself over a mile. Precious Angel represents a powerful yard and has solid enough form to suggest he can pay his way this winter, while Muthraab Aldaar is better than he consented to show last time out and is interesting back at Kempton after his summer break.
- African Blessing
- Precious Angel
- Muthraab Aldaar
