88,000 gns yearling. Half-brother to multiple winners including Alessandro Volta (1m1f Listed at two/1m3½f Group 3), modest effort over 1m at Doncaster on debut but not without market support then and ran green. Should improve and drops in class.
Lope De Vega colt, cost €50,000 as a foal and 55,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to a 7f winner and dam a Listed winner around this trip. Never posed any sort of threat on debut at Newbury (7f, good) but should have learned from the outing.
So You Think colt, dam a 1m2f winner, half-sister to useful winner up to 1m1f Byrama, likeable newcomer on paper, cost connections 85,000 gns yearling.
Arakan colt has a nice mix of stamina and speed in his pedigree, trainer is 5-50 with two-year-olds in the preceding year.
Piccolo gelding was a rare two-year-old runner for this yard on debut at Ffos Las and duly finished tailed off over 7½f on good to soft last month. Limited expectations once again.
Hasn't helped himself with pair of tardy starts in two runs so far but not without some promise in those runs at Chepstow (7½f, soft) and Kempton (7f, AW). More required but capable of improving.
Rock Of Gibraltar colt out of Snowpalm, cost 14,000 gns earlier this year. Sent off 66/1 on debut over 1m on Lingfield's AW and trailed home last having never threatened to get involved.
Champs Elysees colt, cost 20,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to five winners, largely over sprint trips. Slowly away and never in a position to challenge on debut over 7f (good) at Newbury 11 days ago, needs to improve dramatically.
Nayef filly whose dam was a 1m winner, yard's 2017 record with two-year-old's is 1-38.
First foal of an unraced half-sister to 1m4f Group 3 winner/Irish St Leger second Clowance, filly will need to improve on last month's debut showing over C&D (beaten almost 9L in fifth of 12).
Forecasts
Ace Ventura (8/11), Carp Kid (5/2), Red Miracle (6/1), Regular Income (12/1), Corgi (14/1), Gozo Girl (33/1), Mandalayan (40/1), Tour de Paris (40/1), Santiago Rock (100/1), Masons Belle (100/1)
ACE VENTURA wasn't without support on debut at Doncaster last month but he proved in need of that experience and should be wiser for it now. He's got the pedigree to do well and will surely improve enough to go close in this field. Likewise, Carp Kid should be better equipped for racing after his Newbury debut and can get involved in the finish. In what doesn't appear a strong contest on paper, any money behind newcomer Cogri, a colt out of So You Think, would be worth noting.
- Ace Ventura
- Corgi
- Carp Kid
