Has paid the price for an emphatic victory in a weak looking race over extended-mile at Nottingham in May. Handicapper has relented 2lb now on first run since July for AW return.
Well beaten over 7f here in February but races from 5lb lower mark now tackling the mile, may have needed run at Yarmouth recently off 141-day break.
50/1 winner of a maiden over C&D a year ago, has raced just three times since, bit too keen to get on with things over 1m at Sandown 13 days ago. Mark is starting to look fairer now for AW return.
Justified odds-on favouritism to win 1m2f Chelmsford maiden in June, rather compromised chance here recently over 1m4f when much too keen in clear lead. Dropped in distance now and can get involved if settling better.
Shamardal filly made pleasing start for this handler when winning C&D maiden in August on just her second outing and returned from a break. Opening handicap mark looks fair and expected to be right in contention.
3lb higher than when gaining sole career success over extended-mile at Nottingham in May. Has a bit to prove on second AW start and others make more appeal.
Just held in recent starts over C&D and at Chelmsford, can run well again but might be aiming for place money at best.
Made a winning debut for this yard over 7f at Wolverhampton in July and seemed to handle the mile well enough at Yarmouth afterwards. Laboured over this C&D last month however off current rating so has something to prove for now.
Broke her duck at the fifth attempt when winning over an extended mile at Nottingham in May (good), but hasn't looked like repeating the trick in six runs since, including over this C&D and readily passed over on form.
Landed a bad Newmarket maiden last autumn. The formlines around the placed horses there strongly suggest she'll need more relief before going in again. Poor on only previous AW start.
Maiden after 13 starts but posted solid second over C&D last month on second start back from a layoff and has to be given fair claims from 1lb higher.
Shaped with some promise in turf maidens over this trip and warrants a market check now making AW/handicap bow.
Sole victory came on good to firm ground over 1m at Yarmouth in a first time visor back in June. In and out form since but impossible to rule out if able to show improved turf form now back on the AW.
Forecasts
Queensbrydge (5/2), Influent (9/2), Caledonia Duchess (8/1), Normandie Lady (8/1), Distant (10/1), Hawatif (12/1), Carducci (14/1), Medicean Ballet (16/1), The Yellow Bus (16/1), Teomaria (16/1), Assanilka (20/1), Patching (25/1), Braztime (33/1)
INFLUENT made a winning start for this trainer in a C&D maiden in August and merits plenty respect now going handicapping for the first time. The opening mark doesn't look steep and, with further improvement distinctly likely, the Shamardal can continue her progress by landing this prize. The consistent Queensbrydge is likely to on the premises again while Caledonia Duchess is respected on last month's C&D showing and any money behind handicap debutant Teomaria could prove noteworthy.
- Influent
- Caledonia Duchess
- Teomaria
