Previous C&D winner and on a handy mark but been in the doldrums this season and finding winning opportunities slipping by with increasing regularity. Still, he's currently 12lb below last winning mark so dangerous to dismiss.
Won on turf at Lingfield before going close over C&D in June. Handily weighted on that form, the gelding has sound claims in this company but has been out of sorts lately and comes here with plenty to prove.
From a yard that excels with sprinters and looked a filly to keep on the right side when she won her maiden in good style at Bath in June. Failed to back up the effort on handicap debut but very feasible she has more offer. Worth a betting check.
Holding his form well but crept up the weights as a result. Course debut but sound place claims at least if handling the surface.
Won from the same mark at Ripon earlier in the season, so feasibly well treated. However, recent form has been patchy and comes into this with risks attached.
Back to form of late and entitled to plenty of respect. This C&D holds no fears for the filly and another bold effort should be in the offering. Likes to come from off the pace but needs to run close to her personal best to prevail.
Plummeted in the ratings since last year and is dangerously well handicapped just now. Recent form has been poor though and a leap of faith required before assuming the gelding is still capable of capitalising on the handicapper's leniency.
Versatile regarding the ground but sole win to date came on the AW at Kempton. Form on turf only fair at best recently and seemed to lose his way for his former yard. Probably best watched on fist outing for a new trainer.
Forecasts
The Big Short (13/8), Zipedeedodah (7/2), Everkyllachy (5/1), Sandfrankskipsgo (13/2), Pearl Noir (9/1), Bella Alissa (16/1), Something Lucky (25/1), Stringybark Creek (33/1)
There are reasons for doubting SANDFRANKIPSGO still has the resolution for a battle as he he's come up short on numerous occasions. However, he's on a very attractive mark just now and may be worth one more throw of the dice in this company. Everkyllachy likes this course and is going through a mini revival just now. He rates as serious contender here. The Big Short, on the other hand, is creeping up the weights after a series of decent efforts, and while Charlies Hills' gelding has to be feared on these terms; he still needs to be at his very best. Zipedeedodah and Something Lucky are others with claims at the weights but have something to prove on recent form.
