Came good at the 16th attempt at Kempton in March 2016, but not been seen since. Has now moved yards and resumes from 2lb higher than that success. On previous form that gives him a chance, though he has well being and race fitness to prove.
All four of his wins have been over 1m2f at Haydock, but he has also run well over that trip here. 3lb higher than his last success and probably capable of being competitive from this mark, though still has stamina to prove.
Sole win was on his first start for this trainer over a similar trip at Yarmouth in the spring. 3lb higher than that today, but went close from this mark last time and with conditions to suit he should go very well.
Has won here over 1m and also scored over this trip at Windsor in 2015 from 9lb lower. Has been competitive from similar marks to this earlier in the season and with conditions to suit she can't be ruled out.
All three of his wins have been with some cut in the ground over 1m4f, so he won't mind any rain. Only 1lb higher today than when scoring at Doncaster in July and likely to be very competitive.
Has won twice this term, including over a similar trip at Windsor (good to firm) two starts ago. Well held from this mark at Salisbury last time and although not beyond further improvement, she has a little to prove this time.
Won a Redcar maiden (1m2f, good) in May. Comes here on the back of his best handicap run to date when 1¾L fourth at Newmarket (1m2f, good) last time. Same mark today, though pedigree suggests that this trip may stretch his stamina.
Chasing a hat-trick after back-to-back wins at Beverley over 1m4f (both on good to firm). Up another 7lb for the latter and also up in grade and, while there looked to be a bit more to come, this will be a challenge.
Another hat-trick seeker after back-to-back wins at Windsor, the first of them over this sort of trip. Up another 6lb for winning over 1m2f last time, but scope to find more and positive style suggests he won't die wondering. Claims.
His sole success came last year and he has proved frustrating to follow this term, making the frame on all his last five starts, including over 1m6f at Salisbury last time. Up 2lb for that and should be involved, but clearly vulnerable.
Forecasts
Near Kettering (4/1), Maori Bob (9/2), Medalla De Oro (6/1), Captain Navarre (6/1), Sean O'Casey (8/1), Harebell (10/1), Phoenix Dawn (11/1), Caponova (11/1), The New Pharaoh (12/1), All My Love (25/1)
Maori Bob will be popular as he bids for a hat-trick, but the same goes for MEDALLA DE ORO, who might just have a little more scope for defying his own rise in the weights now back over this trip. Phoenix Dawn is respected along with Harebell, while Sean O'Casey and The New Pharaoh are others with claims.
- Medalla De Oro
- Maori Bob
- Harebell
