Copes with cut in the ground and has claims on one piece of form when second at Windsor last September. Two starts this season have been modest but the gelding is likely to be suited by dropping back in trip.
Sprung a bit of surprise by winning at Yarmouth last time out but has a 6lb higher mark and very different ground conditions to contend with this time around. Needs to confirm last time wasn't just a one-off performance.
Both her career wins have come over C&D but she was disappointing on her only attempt on soft ground at Sandown last time out; reluctantly passed over on account of unfavorable forecast for the going.
Best effort on turf came on good to soft in a seller at Leicester. Interesting to see if he attracts any speculative interest in the betting but recent form is poor.
Been keeping modest company of late and not certain to appreciate dropping back to a mile. Coped with give underfoot latest but notable the headgear is dispensed with this time. Others more convincing.
Fair efforts in her completed start on turf but yet to encounter ground as testing as is being predicted here. This trip suits though and at least comes into this on the back of an improved effort. One to monitor in the betting.
The state of the ground is an imponderable for him at this stage and has been limited to just two starts this season. Acted well at this course when last seen but concerning that he hasn't been out since April.
Fifth of fifteen in a C&D seller latest needs to be improved upon and yet to race with significant ease in the ground. Too much guesswork involved to forward a solid recommendation at this stage.
Bits and pieces of form suggests she has a race within her at some stage and the drop back to a mile should be ideal. Now on a career low mark so will have very few excuses and another to keep tabs on in the betting.
Posted a couple of reasonable efforts at this course but has fair bit of improvement to find. Finished last on her only previous start over a mile, so also needs to conclusively prove the trip suits.

A typical end of season handicap and all of these have questions to answer for one reason or another. QUEEN BEATRICE also fits that profile but has a little more scope than a few of her rivals and gets the slenderest vote of confidence. Ronni Layne should be suited by the drop in trip and has claims on the pick of her form, while Captain Sedgwick has a small handful of decent efforts to her name on turf and can pose a threat in this company if the ground isn't too testing for her. Luxford likes this course but the state of the predicted underfoot conditions tempers any confidence.
- Queen Beatrice
- Ronni Layne
- Captain Sedgwick
