£6,000 yearling by Doyen who finished fourth of six to Musical Terms on debut in a 1m Ripon maiden late last month. Drops sharply in trip to 5f for second start.

An exposed performer who has plenty of placed efforts in the book but has been unable to break his duck in 11 attempts. 5f would appear his trip, but surely stronger in a nursery.

Has shown ability on more than one occasion at Yarmouth (over 6f), including when beaten a head by Yorkshire Rover in mid July. Disappointing at Kempton latest and tries 5f for the first time.

Not too much to recommend him on after six career starts. Back to basics and 5f for the first time since June 2016, having raced between 7f and 1m2f in his last four races.

Showed no immediate promise in filling the rear division on both starts in maidens to date, so major improvement required on AW debut.

Started at odds of 100/1, and predictably finished last of seven to Thafeera in a 6f Yarmouth maiden in late July and hasn't been seen in action since.

Paid the price for racing too keenly on debut at Ayr (1m) in early June when weakening tamely to finish sixth of seven to Born To Be Alive. Drops sharply in trip on her return from a lengthy absence.

Invincible Spirit filly who is a half-sister to five winners including 1m Group 2 winner Duntle. Finished just behind Nuns Walk when eighth of 14 to Equitation on debut at Doncaster (6f) last month. Drop in trip not an obvious move.

Closely matched with Lady Of The Lamp on Doncaster form, but a runner up on her other two career starts. Solid, but probably flattered to be beaten by a nose in a weak 7f Catterick fillies maiden latest (winner as green as grass and value for more).

Forecasts

Nuns Walk (6/4), Lady Of The Lamp (3/1), Angel Palanas (9/2), Canadian Royal (5/1), Seebring (16/1), Kaylen's Mischief (18/1), High Anxiety (33/1), Swing Time (100/1), Eureka Springs (150/1)

Verdict

A drop back in trip to 5f wouldn't appear to be an obvious move for LADY OF THE LAMP, but closely matched with Nun's Walk on Doncaster form (6f), and open to a degree more improvement than the Tim Easterby trained filly, she might just get away with it at this galloping track in a very winnable low grade maiden. Few of the others can be realistically considered, with the 68 rated Canadian Royal looking to have reasonable claims for making the frame.
  1. Lady Of The Lamp
  2. Canadian Royal
  3. Nuns Walk
