Pursued an autumn campaign last year and seems to be following a similar path judged on this belated reappearance. Progressive when last seen and has to respected if match-fit.
Won twice in May and bounced back to form at York last time under this jockey. Has been raised 4lb for that success and may find that a stumbling block.
One of three runners for his stable. Winner of three of his last five starts in handicap company and is 15lb higher than for the first of them. Has to be respected in his current vein of form.
Landed a 5f handicap off only 2lb lower in July and signalled a return to top form when finishing to some effect at Chester last time. Each-way claims.
Model of consistency this year, winning twice and being placed on several occasions. Holds no secrets from the handicapper, but likely to be on the premises again under a jockey who has already won on him.
In the form of his life with three wins from his last four starts. The handicapper has raised him a total of 9lb, but that should not prevent him from being competitive with his confidence high.
Veteran campaigner who showed the fire still burns when winning at Musselburgh in July. By no means disgraced in two subsequent starts and likely to give his running again.
On a long, losing streak, with her last win achieved over two years ago. The handicapper has given her a chance, but recent evidence suggests she is going to struggle.
Briefly halted Muatadel's progress at Pontefract a couple of starts ago and is weighted to comfirm the form. Behind Tarboosh last time, however, and needs to bounce back.
Forecasts
Aleef (10/3), Tarboosh (9/2), Arzaak (11/2), Muatadel (6/1), Stanghow (7/1), Excessable (8/1), Olivia Fallow (12/1), Lexington Place (16/1), Silvanus (22/1)
A typically-tight sprint handicap. Top weight Aleef is interesting on his return to action, but may need this to put an edge on him. Tarboosh looks the best of his stable's three runners, Arzaak's consistency means he will almost certainly be thereabouts and Muatadel is on a roll and has to enter calculations. Indeed, a case can be made for nearly all of these so it may be worth taking a chance on a likely outsider in the shape of STANGHOW, who is feasibly handicapped and ran an eyecatching race at Chester last time.
- Stanghow
- Arzaak
- Muatadel
