Winner on his final start Richard Hannon at Ascot and an interesting recruit for this yard. Opening mark looks fair and he shaped like he would stay this far last time so he could improve upped in trip.

Back-to-back winner earlier in the campaign but disappointing favourite at York two starts back. Back on track with a respectable fourth of 14 at the Goodwood Festival but others may arrive with better handicap marks.

Alkhalifa14
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-7| J: Jim Crowley| T: B J Meehan| OR:  83

Improved for his debut when winning at Newbury but very disappointing in a three-runner contest at Ripon last time. May want softer ground than this to be seen at his best and he'll need improvement to win this.

Progressing with each start and won well at Yarmouth last time out, staying on strongly in the closing stages. Looks on a fair mark for handicap debut and ran well here in July; each-way claims.

Livingstones Quest18
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-13| J: Oisin Murphy| T: B R Millman| OR:  75| D
8/1
Improved from his debut when just touched off at Salisbury in July and didn't need to improve to win at Ffos Las in heavy ground last time. Beat a rival rated 80 when receiving 4lb weight so looks on a fair mark and more improvement is likely.

Cheeky Rascal30
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-13| J: R L Moore| T: R Hannon| OR:  75
3/1
Narrowly touched off when beaten by a well-in stablemate at Goodwood last time. Needs to settle better but he looks on a fair mark and his rival that beat him last time has won a Group 3 subsequently.

Crownthorpe16
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: S De Sousa| T: R A Fahey| OR:  73
4/1
Narrowly denied on both of his most recent starts and 3lb rise for not winning isn't ideal and others look on better handicap marks. Jockey booking a positive but looks up against it.

Puchita19
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-4| J: Hollie Doyle(3)| T: R Hannon| OR:  66
14/1
Unplaced on all four starts to date and she has developed bad habits when leaving the stalls on her more recent starts. May need more time and Moore prefers Cheeky Rascal.

Forecasts

Cheeky Rascal (3/1), Crownthorpe (4/1), Barford (5/1), Lethal Lunch (11/2), Jedi Master (15/2), Livingstones Quest (8/1), Alkhalifa (12/1), Puchita (14/1)

Verdict

Lethal Lunch is an interesting runner on his first start for Clive Cox and he may appreciate this longer trip while Barford is clearly still progressing and seems on a fair mark. However, CHEEKY RASCAL looks on a fair mark after the rival that beat him last time came out and won in Group company since and he gets the services of Ryan Moore this time around.
  1. Cheeky Rascal
  2. Lethal Lunch
  3. Barford
