Has won in point-to-points (maiden company) but never really showed any progression over hurdles (0/8). Drops in grade now for his chasing debut off a 5lb lower mark than when last seen over hurdles with blinkers on for the first time.

Has shaped well on some of his hurdles starts this year and looked to be building up to something. Pulled too hard last time and better judged on his previous form making his chasing debut and certainly has a chance here.

Looks to be one of the lesser lights from the stable and didn't offer that much on his chasing debut at Newton Abbot over a shorter trip. Could well be a slow learner and has run with some credit in point-to-points so not totally out of this.

Cheekpieces go on for the first time and it was thought that he might show a little bit more for going chasing. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and he showed nothing on debut at Stratford (pulled-up) and mark looks too high.

Switches to chasing now after showing a return to form over hurdles last time out at Uttoxeter. Had previously won off a lowly mark over hurdles but at least showed some ability and not harshly treated here.

Irish raider although he's run several times over here of late but despite the falling mark looks a difficult and temperamental sort and hard to trust. Ran a little better for a change of tactics last time (went from front) but treated with caution here.

Got off the mark in point-to-points at the fifth attempt but showed very little over hurdles (remains a maiden). Often races lazily and scope for fences does look a little bit limited and others preferred.

Ran well on the Flat in France although remained a maiden and looks a quirky and difficult customer over obstacles. Appeared to run a big race last time out From out of handicap) but hard to trust to back that up.

Hardtorockp,t36
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-0| J: Michael Heard(5)| T: J W Mullins| OR:  66

Form under Rules has been poor and his five chase runs so far have really shown very little. Tried in various headgear and looks to have a hard task from 3lb out of the handicap and others much higher in the pecking order.

Forecasts

Midnight Gypsy (4/1), Atlantic King (5/1), King Of Milan (11/2), Seeanythingyoulike (6/1), Whipcord (6/1), Clo Sacre (6/1), Hardtorock (9/1), Midnight Queen (16/1), Orchestrated (50/1)

Verdict

Hard to be confident about any of this field with plenty of questions to be answered by the majority of them and SEEANYTHINGYOULIKE on his chasing debut and looked to building up to something over hurdles is the suggestion. Whipcord drops in grade and with the blinkers on for the first time makes some appeal and it’s not hard to think that Clo Sacre may be better than his form so far. Midnight Gypsy is another to throw in the mix and may be able to get competitive off a comparatively lowly mark with Atlantic King looking to run a big race last time out but far from certain to back this up.
