Frankel filly who showed promise in two maidens in the autumn and stepped up on that form when just touched off at Salisbury on her belated reappearance earlier this month. Should be all the better for that run and is a leading contender.
Shamardal filly whose only run for Hugo Palmer saw her finish sixth of seven in an AW maiden at Lingfield in December. Sent off at 3-1 that day, so must have been showing something, and is worth a market check on first run for this trainer.
Daughter of successful Australian sire Fastnet Rock, she is from a family which contains a couple of Listed winners from 6f to 1m. Stable can get first-time-out winners, but has been quiet recently.
Appealing pedigree, but well beaten on both starts so far and is well held by Ambrosia on Salisbury running. Keen enough there and it is no surprise that connections reach for a hood.
Rock Of Gibraltar filly who fetched 16,500 gns as a 2yo and is from the family of middle distance winners in the US and Sweden. Stable not noted for its winners on debut, but nice pedigree offers hope.
After a promising debut at Nottingham, she took a backward step at Salisbury on ground which may have been too soft. Worth another chance switched to the AW.
Not without promise in outings at Lingfield and Newmarket, but qualifies for a handicap mark after this and that is probably the plan for connections.
Too green to do herself justice on both starts as a 2yo. Likely to need this reappearance run after which she can go into handicap company for her shrewd stable.
Unraced home-bred daughter of Tagula. Dam placed over 1m1f in France. Rare representative for progressive jumps yard and was last of 13 on debut at Nottingham. Best watched until she shows more.
Daughter of Teofilo who fetched 36,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to three winners. Stable also runs Influent, so the betting should indicate which is the more likely contender.
Pleasing debut at this track before not so good at Haydock on her second start. One to consider back on the AW for her leading stable.
Showed some promise in two starts as a juvenile for Roger Varian, but first effort for current stable saw her finish last of 10 at Windsor. Stable going well recently so she is not a forlorn hope if coming on for that recent run over 2f shorter.
Forecasts
Ambrosia (4/5), Influent (11/2), Western Safari (10/1), Zafaranah (12/1), Isstoora (14/1), Tennessee Belle (16/1), Jazaalah (20/1), Pequeninha (25/1), Scribbler (25/1), Send Up (50/1), Maid Of Rock (100/1), Steady (100/1)
Not the strongest of maidens. Western Safari may fare better back on the AW and Pequeninha showed enough on debut to suggest she could run well. The clear form choice, though, is AMBROSIA, a Frankel filly who was just touched off on her reappearance at Salisbury after showing promise as a 2yo. It may be worth keeping an eye on Send Up with a view to future handicaps.
- Ambrosia
- Western Safari
- Pequeninha
