A largely consistent C&D winner who has climbed in the weights accordingly, but is likely to be suited by any further drying of the ground prior to racing. A neck runner up to El Hombre on his penultimate start at Carlisle in July (5f), he's 2lb higher today.
C&D winner (May 2013) but has also proved himself proficient at Haydock with cut in the ground. Made a winning debut for this yard at that track in June (6f soft) and possibly found being turned out under a penalty just a week later (5f) too much. Back from a short break and respected.
Capable performer, and without doubt becoming attractively handicapped. However, on a long losing run and hasn't really sparkled since finishing third at Doncaster in early April.
Knocking on the door since winning on seasonal reappearance at Ripon in April (6f good to firm) and appeared to handle softer ground (good to soft) when staying on strongly to finish third to the solid Robero at Pontefract in July (6f). Likely still capable from this mark.
His sole career success came over 7f at Ayr in May (good to firm), but he's appeared much sharper with cut most latterly when placed at Ascot (7f) and Goodwood (6f). 2lb higher, but this is weaker than the Stewards Cup Consolation Race.
C&D winner who is a fair performer when right and appears to be now over a brief stalls affliction. There or thereabouts from similar marks of late, most notably at Ayr in July, but this looks a little bit too competitive.
Not managed to get his head in front since June 2016 (Ripon), but races from 5lb below his last winning mark as a result. No worries with an ability to handle a big field, but good ground appears to suit him best.
A five time career winner from just 20 starts makes for pleasing reading, and has an ability to handle most ground conditions, but seemingly best suited with give. so must come into contention. He won twice over C&D during 2016 (soft and heavy), and whilst up the weights remains in good order as demonstrated when beaten ½L by Meshardal at York in June.
Lightly raced, and stepped out of maidens for the first time when 1L third to Kaeso in a 6f handicap at Doncaster (soft) last month. Open to further progress from the same mark, but many of the others appear more battle hardened at present.
C&D winner (November 2016) who has shown consistency this term and was a decisive winner at Thirsk (6f good) in early July. The second, fourth, fifth, sixth and eighth have all won from that race since, so an 8lb rise is probably fair, although that leaves him needing a career best effort to follow up.

A decent handicap in which plenty of the runners hold claims of some sort. However, TOMMY G has seemingly taken a step forward on his last two starts and this is weaker than the Stewards Cup Consolation Race that he went close in at Goodwood last week. Raised a couple of pounds since, but soft ground clearly suits the Jim Goldie trained gelding well and he ought to go close at this level.
