Won four times up to this trip for Richard Fahey, including in testing conditions. Fifth in Lincoln at Doncaster on his return but not sighted since a poor run here in May and reappears for a new yard. Market move would be interesting.

Progressive sort in Ireland last season, winning three times, and has performed better than his bare form figures suggest for current yard (unlucky in running on numerous occasions). Suspicion remains that he is feasibly-treated, so of interest with top pilot taking over in the plate.

Wolverhampton maiden winner last season who has taken his form to another level since cheekpieces were introduced, winning over C&D (good to soft) and Bath (1m2f, soft) on Wednesday. Obvious claims under a penalty if this race doesn't come too quickly.

Finally got off the mark at the 10th attempt when winning a 1m2f Epsom handicap in good style last time out. Significantly that was the first time he had encountered an easy surface, so he remains one to be interested in despite a hefty 7lb rise.

Won a 7f Lingfield maiden on his debut in December but a shade disappointing in three subsequent AW starts. Better signs after a break when finishing 2½L behind Anythingtoday over C&D last month and that run should have brought him on. Feasibly-treated.

Three-time winner for Richard Hannnon and added another win for this yard when scoring at Goodwood (7f, good to firm) last month. Below that sort of form since, including on soft ground last time and has still to prove her stays this far.

Few miles on the clock but has already won at Wolverhampton (extended 1m1f) and at Chester (1m4f, good to firm) before finishing a decent third behind Marzouq over C&D (good to firm) last time out. Open to further improvement but little margin for error.

Forecasts

Anythingtoday (11/4), Atkinson Grimshaw (7/2), Eddystone Rock (7/2), Ay Ay (5/1), Thundering Blue (11/2), Speed Company (8/1), Dolphin Vista (14/1), In The Red (33/1)

Verdict

An interesting event in which the progressive Anythingtoday is likely to be all the rage under a penalty after a facile win in the mud at Bath on Wednesday. For all that, this is by no means a simple task and EDDYSTONE ROCK is preferred in the hands of Silvestre De Sousa having caught the eye in defeat on numerous occasions in stronger company this summer. Speed Company, Thundering Blue and Atkinson Grimshaw are also respected in a good race.
  1. Eddystone Rock
  2. Anythingtoday
  3. Speed Company
