Recent Newcastle victory represents the weakest form link in his career so far. However, his previous third to the Superlative Stakes third Great Prospector gives him every chance here off this mark. Rider is 16-66 on the yard's juveniles over the past five years for a 12 points profit.
Made all to beat the subsequent winner of a valuable Newmarket nursery when landing a 6f maiden here in May. Has produced two lesser efforts on soft ground since and also a fair third at Ascot. Should be suited by this trip and interesting to see rider taking this mount when probably having the option to ride the topweight.
Lesser of his three efforts came on soft ground. Sire does not have a strong AW record and rider/trainer combination are a lower than expected 3-33 here. Form of his latest run is working out badly enough to suggest he has work to do off this mark.
Has improved with each run so far and appears reasonably enough treated for her nursery debut. Stable are 5-24 around here and, if cheekpieces have the desired effect, she would be the one to beat. Yard have been finding their horses are going well without actualy winning, as indicated by a 1-17 record for the last fortnight (further seven placed).
Disappointed in a visor last time so the aids are now removed. Had produced solid efforts at Pontefract and York prior to that which would make him competitive here. Should see out the trip but stable are finding winners hard to come by.
Winner of a Redcar seller over this trip and has not shown any signs of progress in both starts since. Receives plenty of weight but others looks stronger on his AW debut.
Forecasts
Joe's Spirit (15/8), Kit Marlowe (5/2), Sardenya (7/2), Coastal Drive (9/1), The Love Doctor (10/1), Faradays Spark (14/1)
Sardenya will have her supporters as a lightly raced type from a big yard. She did not find much for pressure last time and cheekpieces are now fitted. Her previous run at Lingfield gives her claims over his trip but preference is for KIT MARLOWE. His latest run produced his first victory, but it is his Nottingham third to the useful Great Prospector that underlines his claims of winning off this mark. Joe's Spirit is interesting if considering the rider may have had the option to ride the selection. He has winning form at the track when beating Tangled who won a hot race subsequently. There are valid excuses for his three defeats since and he rates a big danger.
- Kit Marlowe
- Joe's Spirit
- Sardenya
