Glimpses of ability in both previous starts but likely to need further than this on breeding and looks best left alone until going handicapping over a longer trip.
An expensive purchase, he is a half-brother to six winners - over distances ranging from 1m to 1m6f. Highly respected yard and connections appear to have found a weak opening for their charge and no surprise to see him being a cut above this lot despite his lack of experience. The betting will be helpful though.
Fourth on debut at Doncaster was a good effort - especially as he was slow to get into his stride and had a lot of ground to make up as a result. This step up in trip looks a logical move and this fellow is well worth considering.
Yard has a good strike-rate here and noteworthy that he is Sir Michael Stoute's only runner on the card. Cost €150,000 as a two-year-old, the colt is well related on his dams' side. One to bear in mind but no surprise also if he needs the experience. The betting will aid again here.
Not much to take from her debut run at Pontefract and a much better effort is already required.
Winners in her pedigree but surprisingly only went for 4,000gns at the Newmarket sales. Debut run was just ordinary and needs to find improvement already.
Encouraging fourth of 16 on debut at Redcar and ran as if already in need of at least a mile. Should have learned plenty from that racecourse bow and not much to find to make the frame here.
Dubawi filly that ran with promise on debut at Salisbury last month. Up in trip and on softer ground today but yard obviously respected and one to bear in mind if backed.
Two starts so far didn't set the world alight and already looks as if handicapping will be her best route to riches. Big improvement needed to figure here.
Forecasts
Noble Conquest (11/8), Island Of Life (9/4), Isabella (5/1), Ludorum (7/1), Mischief Managed (16/1), Fikhaar (22/1), Excellent Story (50/1), Silken Moonlight (66/1), Callaloo (80/1)
At 225,000gns, LUDORUM is easily the most expensive of these and certainly looks the part on paper. Those with form don't look to be anything out of the ordinary but Isabella and Island Of Life ran with promise on their respective debuts and are worth considering as viable alternatives. Noble Conquest is from a top yard and is another that can be found a race before too long.
- Ludorum
- Isabella
- Island Of Life
