One of the few that will enjoy these kind of conditions but handicap mark looks harsh at present. Yard are in excellent form at present but this gelding unlikely to find it easy conceding weight to this field and probably better suited to a more galloping track.
Has returned a little out of form this year but looks on a good mark at present if he can get back on track and has a C&D win to his name. Generally tends to be better in smaller fields and never looked as effective in softer conditions though.
Defied a rise in the weights to win a Class 2 at Chester last time and looks progressive currently. Speedy sort and should enjoy the nature of this course but ground is a complete unknown. Gets the services of a claimer worth the 7lb he takes off.
Forced to carry a 6lb penalty for his latest narrow success and may struggle from this sort of mark. Versatile conditions wise at least and arrives in form so he can't be discounted.
Consistent mare who likes to be produced on the line to be seen to best effect. Found herself on the wrong side of the track at Ascot last time and should be forgiven that run. This jockey knows her well from earlier in her career and she ran well in this race last year at big odds. Interesting runner.
Has been in excellent form this year and has shaped well on a couple of occasions on soft ground including when runner-up at Pontefract last time. This is much tougher but still progressing and eye-catching jockey booking.
Progressing at some rate this year and won five in a row culminating with a win at Newmarket in a class 4 in June. Not disgraced when upped in class last time but handicapper may have caught up with him for now.
Not won since a runaway maiden success at Southwell. Handicapper starting to release his grip now and he's been running well at York this season but struggled on undulating tracks before and may do better on a more galloping track than this.
Won a handicap off a mark of 102 in his pomp and returned to the winners enclosure for the first time in three years at the start of the season. Handicapper caught back up with him now though and would need his best effort in several years to take this. Positive jockey booking at least.
Rattled off a hat-trick earlier in the year and back in the winner's enclosure last time out when returned to faster conditions. Likely to struggle carrying a 6lb penalty in a deeper race while he has very little form in these conditions. Probably better over 5f and others make more appeal.
Seemingly enjoys softer conditions and won well at Chepstow in June in soft ground. Didn't have much to spare though and has struggled in two subsequent starts. Won't mind a drop back in trip and yard are in good form so not without each-way claims.
In the form of his life currently and has been running well in defeat after a win at Salisbury in soft ground earlier in the season. Little room for manouver off this sort of mark but certain to enjoy this test and not without an each-way chance with a useful 3lb claimer booked.
Has performed with credit on every start to date. Landed a maiden at Newcastle towards the end of last year and placed in two hot looking handicaps since, the latter of which over this trip. Soft ground is an unknown but he's less exposed than the majority of these and he should get a decent pace to aim at.
Has possibly been targeted a soft ground recently and won relatively easily at Hamilton last time out. 6lb penalty to carry but completely unexposed and jockey booking catches the eye; big run expected.
Has given the impression he's well-handicapped on several occasions and nearly did it from the front last time out at Newmarket before getting nailed on the line. Proven in these conditions and each-way claims once again.
Just one win to date but not beaten far last time out at Ascot in soft ground. Probably wants a drop back in trip to be seen at his best but can't be discounted with a useful 5lb claimer booked and clearly on a fair mark.

Provided THE WAGON WHEEL handles this ground, he could be the one to beat off a fair looking mark for a yard in excellent form. Scorching Heat has been running consistently well of late and he was only just touched off at Newmarket last time while Stellarta runs her race more often than not and she placed in this contest last year; albeit on very different ground.
