Certainly stepped up on his previous form when he won over C&D last time out beating King Of The Celts who has another crack at him today with the revised terms favouring the latter. Likely to continue in form though and should run his race again even under a 6lb penalty.
Rattled off a handicap hat-trick last season with the last win coming off a mark of 61 at Musselburgh over today's trip. Not seen after that last win until this year and has run some consistent races apart from her last start where she disappointed on quick ground at Doncaster but does look the type to be able to put that behind her.
C&D winner who has generally run well here although his last two starts here have been a little disappointing. Appeared to lose his spark over hurdles during the winter and yet to regain it on the Flat as yet.
Showed some relatively decent form in his early starts for this yard having previously been with Pat Phelan but has regressed a little as he has dropped back in trip. Tried over a mile last time out and slow away he was always on the back foot and a return to this sort of trip will suit far better.
Defeated by Swansway last time out he may well be able to take his revenge here on better terms although at his age there is hardly likely to be any improvement in him. Off a mark of 63 though he should run his race and will be dangerous if he gets an easy lead again.
Didn't show an awful lot when tried in bumpers but ran his best race on the Flat on his debut in this sphere (the only time he's tried this trip) and may be capable of better returned to this trip. Runs off his lowest handicap mark now which gives him a chance returned to a distance which should suit better.
C&D winner who was placed four times last season but has yet to show much spark this season with or without headgear. Ought to be able to be competitive off this mark but needs to show more before he can be considered.
Makes his first start for this yard having previously been with John Gallagher for whom he was second in Bath handicap in April (best recent run). Accomplished very little in two starts since then at Brighton and Leicester even dropped to selling grade last time.
Turf form is only modest with both his wins coming on the AW at Newcastle the last off a 10lb higher mark than he runs off here. Looked as though he needed the run last time out but with his turf form looking modest others are preferred here.
Has basically been below form in her recent starts with her latest sixth here over C&D summing her up. Very much looks as though she need stronger handling and makes only limited appeal here.
Still unexposed and ran a race that contained some promise when making his turf debut last time out at Nottingham over 1m6f off a 2lb higher mark. Certainly not knocked about and although this is a slightly better contest is worth keeping an eye on.
Forecasts
Swansway (3/1), Angel In The Snow (4/1), Canny Style (9/2), Yensir (15/2), Cloud Monkey (9/1), King Of The Celts (12/1), Competition (14/1), Sherman McCoy (14/1), Fillydelphia (20/1), Cockney Boy (25/1), Almutamarred (50/1)
The turnaround in the weights look as though they will give KING OF THE CELTS the chance to take his revenge on Swansway and gain compensation for that defeat and that duo very much set the standard here. Canny Style looks capable of bouncing back from her poor run last time out with this trip looking to suit Yensir much better. Of those likely to start at longer prices both Competition and Angel In The Snow hold some appeal with the latter especially interesting off his lowly mark for a stable that do well in this type of event.
- King Of The Celts
- Swansway
- Angel In The Snow
