Won over this C&D off a 3lb higher mark last summer but hasn't quite being able to recapture the same sort of form this year, most recently when down the field on soft ground over 6f at Hamilton. Couldn't be dismissed if putting best foot forward.

Gained due reward for some consistent efforts when winning at Windsor (6f, good to firm) last month. Found it tougher going from a 3lb higher mark at Doncaster next time but always possible there is improvement in him.

Multiple scorer in his younger days who had become hard to win with but finally got his head back in front when landing a four-runner seller at Windsor last time out. More required here but remains on a feasible mark.

AW scorer whose only turf win came on rattling fast ground at Bath (extended 5f) in May. Hasn't been able to kick on from that success and has questions to answer after a particularly lacklustre effort at Epsom last time.

Not many miles on the clock and doubled his win tally with a success over 6f at Windsor (good to firm) last month. Not disgraced when a 2L third of eight behind Ashpan Sam at Epsom next time and likely to remain competitive.

Chelmsford 6f maiden winner who wasn't disgraced on his handicap debut over 7f at Lingfield prior to a poor effort at Ascot where he didn't appear to stay 1m. Gelded since and shouldn't be dismissed back over 6f for a yard which won this last year.

Was winning for the fourth time when scoring over C&D (good to firm) last month and, though below par at Newbury next time, bounced back with a decent third-place effort at Kempton. Always likely to bump into something better handicapped, however.

Gained the last of his five career wins over this C&D last September from a 6lb higher mark than today's. Less impressive this season, including when edged out by Morache Music in a seller at Windsor latest. Closely matched with that rival again.

Experienced campaigner who boasts a C&D success on his CV but out of luck since winning over 6f at Southwell in January. Looked a touch one-paced over 5f here last time but return to 6f will see him in a better light. Feasibly-treated.

Forecasts

Farleigh Mac (2/1), Munfallet (10/3), Bahamian Dollar (9/2), Showmethewayavrilo (8/1), Morache Music (10/1), Cinque Port (12/1), Juan Horsepower (16/1), Bonjour Steve (18/1), Vincentti (25/1)

Verdict

Richard Hughes landed this event 12 months ago and his CINQUE PORT may offer some value in an open-looking race, having been gelded since his last run two months ago. The three-year-old was a winner on his only previous appearance over 6f and is better than he showed when too aggressively-ridden over 1m last time out. Fairleigh Mac and Morache Music both arrive here in good order and are capable of winning a race of this nature, as is Munfallet if putting his best foot forward.
  1. Cinque Port
  2. Farleigh Mac
  3. Munfallet
