Showed some minor improvement in three maidens, but that could change now that he goes handicapping. Mark looks fair enough and pedigree suggests that this step up in trip is within range. Very interesting.
Has competed a few times from a mark of 70, though only made the frame once at Haydock over a similar trip (soft) last month. Acts on fast ground and a 2lb drop should see her get closer to the money again.
Best effort in three maidens was at Thirsk (1m4f, soft) in May. Begins handicapping now from a workable mark of 68 and with cheek pieces now added to tongue strap. Interesting to see what the market makes of his chances, but does look an interesting proposition with yard going well.
Steady improvement in five starts so far, going close over 1m2f at Windsor on fast ground last time. 3lb higher for that, so this will demand more, but he looks one of the more likely types in this field to find that.
Won a 7f maiden auction event at Salisbury last year (good to firm), but the handicapper has had his measure thus far. Mark now slipping and he is down another 3lb here. Hard to fancy on recent evidence, but precautionary market check advised to see if there is any confidence in a revival.
Was perhaps unsuited by the testing ground on his handicap debut at Haydock last time out, but that was not a bad effort. Faster conditions should help him, as will a 1lb drop and he could get much closer.
Has made improvement in his three maidens while also stepping up to this sort of trip. Yet to race on fast ground and gets in here off a very workable mark for his handicap debut. Very interesting.
Has looked moderate in three maiden runs and now goes handicapping, stepped up markedly in trip and switched to turf for the first time. Will need improvement from this mark.
Won a Kempton handicap over 1m (AW) in August and after slipping in the weights she got competitive again when beaten just 1L at Brighton (1m2f, good to firm) last time. Same mark today and no reason why he can't repeat the dose.
Has been thereabouts in three handicaps this season over 1m4f-1m6f. Drops back to the former trip and remains on the same mark of 57 again, so connections now turn to cheekpieces in the hope of eeking out a bit more. Couldn't rule that out.
2lb lower than when well beaten on her handicap debut at Catterick over this trip last time. Has shown she was capable of better in maidens, so there is still hope that she can be effective from this mark, but has that to prove.
Up 4lb for a defeat of almost 7L at Beverley (1m2f, good) last time. Steps up again in trip, but has plenty to find and others are preferred.

Prosecution (2/1), Uptown Funk (5/2), Bolder Bob (11/2), Legato (10/1), Our Boy (10/1), Amelia Dream (12/1), Zamadance (12/1), Amadeus Rox (14/1), Gravity Wave (16/1), Inspector (20/1), Velvet Voice (28/1), Navajo Grey (50/1), Whisper A Word (66/1)
Legato looks capable of better here now back on fast ground,, though preference is for UPTOWN FUNK, who has got in here from a mark that might look fortuitous in the future. Zamadance and Amadeus Rox are others to consider, while Inspector represents a yard in decent form and is another for short-lists.
- Uptown Funk
- Legato
