Showed little on debut at Windsor, but there was more encouragment in his second run over C&D in first-time blinkers when fifth of ten, not beaten far. The headgear remains and he should take another step forward.

Distinct promise on both starts at Chester and Haydock. Did not get the clearest of runs last time and can be rated higher than his finishing position. One for the short list.

Made a satisfactory debut when finishing in midfield at Newmarket and stepped up on that when third of six over 1½f further at Beverley next time. Progressing well and entitled to be in the shake-up.

Excelebration colt who cost €35,000 as a yearling and whose dam was a French Listed-placed 1m1f AW 2yo winner and went on to stay 1m4f. Pleasing pedigree and certainly worth a check in the market on debut.

Move Over15

Shaped well when fourth of ten on debut at York, but ran no sort of race at Lingfield when odds-on and seventh of nine. That was too bad to be true and he can do much better with the extra furlong of this race expected to suit.

Dark Angel colt who cost 250,000gns as a foal. He is a half-brother to a couple of winners and is from the same family as top miler Soviet Song. Needed the experience when only ninth of ten on debut at Newbury and looks the owner's second string on jockey bookings.

By Rip Van Winkle, he cost 50,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to four winners including Prime Exhibit and Figment. Had the disappointing Move Over behind when fifth of nine on debut at Lingfield, running on stoutly under sympathetic handling. Should relish the extra furlong and is of definite interest.

Footstepsinthesand colt who cost €24,000 as a foal and €40,000 as a yearling. Dam was a modest maiden who was campained between 5f and a mile. Would be of interest if the market spoke in his favour on debut.

Cost 15,000gns as a foal and his dam is a half-sister to 1m 2yo Group 3 winner Songerie and Listed winners Souvenance (1m4f), Soft Morning (1m1½f AW) and Sourire. Shaped well on debut at Salisbury and looks his owner's main hope. Respected.

Dark Angel filly who fetched 88,000 gns as a yearling and comes from a successful family in Scandinavia. Trainer has shown he can get one ready first time, so she is clearly worth noting in the betting.

Forecasts

Watheer (11/10), Chai Chai (3/1), Global Wealth (8/1), Barbarianatthegate (12/1), Move Over (14/1), Dark Liberty (20/1), Mutafarrid (20/1), Rude Awakening (20/1), Stormy Sand (20/1), Ibn Al Emarat (33/1), Red Snapper (100/1)

Verdict

Move Over is surely better than he showed last time and is fancied on his debut effort at York, while Watheer should be able to build on his promising start at Salisbury. Chai Chai was unlucky at Haydock last time following a good effort at Chester and is much respected, but RUDE AWAKENING shaped with lots of promise under tender handling on his debut and can take a big step forward over this longer trip. Dark LIberty may be the best of the newcomers.
  1. Rude Awakening
  2. Chai Chai
  3. Move Over
