Persistence finally paid off two starts ago when he broke his duck at the 28th attempt (1m3½f, good to firm). Thrashed last time at Brighton, however, and from 3lb higher than his win he is not too difficult to overlook.
C&D winner on firm ground last time out and raised just 2lb for the 1L success. This trainer has had him in good form in all three starts and no reason to suggest that he can't run his race again, so should be thereabouts.
Another who has gone up just 2lb for scoring over C&D (firm) last time and, after having preceded that with a win at Chepstow, he is now chasing a hat-trick. Not sure that there was a whole lot left under the bonnet last time, but he is obviously in good form and should again be very competitive.
Both his wins have been at Brighton over 1m2f, the most recent last time out (good to firm). Stays this trip and handles fast ground, though a 6lb rise makes this look a fair bit tougher today and he will need improvement.
Goes well here and was a 1L runner-up to Hallingham over C&D (firm) last time out. Now 2lb better off for that, which suggests that it could be very close between the pair. Not the most consistent, but perhaps we can trust his form just a little more at this venue. Not ruled out.
The winner of a Newmarket maiden (7f, good to firm) on her second start last season, but has not quite matched that since. Respectable effort to make the frame at Wetherby (1m6f, good) in May when 5lb higher, but not as good in her last two starts. Worth a try at this shorter trip and if on song she could not be ruled out.
Fairly consistent performer who is 0-10, but has run well enough in some of her defeats to suggest that she could have a say again here. Placed at this trip over 1m5f on her last two starts, and from the same mark over slightly shorter she should be thereabouts.
Well beaten in all seven starts to date and has now dropped 11lb in total after four runs in handicaps. Produced her best effort of the season in first-time blinkers and first-time visor tried today, but hard to get too enthusiastic about her until we see her get genuinely competitive.

Forecasts
Plato's Kode (2/1), Kiruna Peak (9/2), Hallingham (6/1), Av A Word (6/1), Eben Dubai (7/1), Grams And Ounces (9/1), Powered (14/1), Art Scholar (14/1), Holyroman Princess (16/1), Kitsey (20/1), Nothing Compares (20/1), Par Three (20/1)
Av A Word comes here in and it is interesting that connections run him under a 6lb penalty, as he didn't look to have bags in hand last time. He could go close again, though preference is just for HALLINGHAM, who has been sweetened up by this trainer. A 2lb rise for his latest success does not look insurmountable and he might be capable of finding the necessary. Eden Dubai is not a consistent performer but his best efforts have been here and he could give the selection a bit to do, while Grams And Ounces, Plato's Kode and Kitsey are others to consider.
