Just the one win in 31 starts, and that was on the Flat way back in 2012. Has shown very little over hurdles to date and not much more on the Flat this season, so needs huge improvement from somewhere. Makes little appeal.
Hadn't shown too much but clearly better was expected last time as he was backed into favourite before turning in a better effort over C&D behind Ladies Dancing. Repeat of that must take him close in a moderate event, and there may be improvement to come .
Go back to 2015 and there's spits and spots of form (for Paul Webber) that give him a great chance off this mark, but he looks very regressive at present and hasn't beaten a horse home in either of his last two starts.
Showed a bit of ability on his debut back in 2015 but it's mostly downhill since then, although he wasn't totally disgraced despite finishing last over C&D earlier in the month. Goes handicapping in a weak race and is at least worth a look in the market.
Looked like he was coming back to a bit of form when second to the well-treated Powderonthebonnet at Ffos Las latest, and this small step up in trip a positive. Yard quiet at the moment, but did have a winner at the weekend, which offers some hope.
Hit the bullseye on the first run for this yard here in May, making all and winning with a bit in hand, but two subsequent efforts have been very poor. Hopes rest on a return to this track, chances but clearly risky.
Seems to be slowly getting the hang of things and not disgraced in a handicap at Southwell last time out, travelled well off the pace and stayed on late. Extra distance here should help and gives impression there's a race to be won with him. Interesting.
Good effort when second over C&D (finishing just in front of Seeanythingyoulike) in May but pulled too hard again at Stratford latest and finished off weakly. Needs to find some cover or it's a similar story here, but not ruled out if he can.
Ground to make up on one or two of these from May's C&D race but improved on that when upped in trip at Stratford last time to finish second. May need to force the pace over this trip but not discounted as she seems to be going the right way.
Finishing well beaten at big prices regardless of trip and ground and simply looks to have too much to do once again.
Forecasts
Seeanythingyoulike (2/1), Starlit Night (9/2), Clearly Capable (11/2), Ashkoun (11/2), Oskar Denarius (6/1), Top Of The Rocks (10/1), Milan Hart (14/1), Fauve (50/1), Ruzeiz (50/1), Actonetaketwo (100/1)
Not an easy contest to kick things off with. Expect a bold showing from Starlit Night from the start as this trip looks on the short side, but she may find Ashkoun will give her company up front and they may set it up for others. Money for Milan Hart would be interesting, but at this stage a chance is taken on OSKAR DENARIUS, who caught the eye at Southwell last time and may have more to offer. Seeanythingyoulike is going the right way and looks a danger.
- Oskar Denarius
- Seeanythingyoulike
- Milan Hart
