Still a maiden after 30 Flat runs and still top weight here although he was a very good second at Goodwood last time out and a repetition of that run would see him go close. No banker to follow that up and faces competition for the lead here which might not help.

Not really firing at the moment and with the losing run starting to stack up he's not one to have much confidence in. Even in this lowly grade others are preferred.

Has won over C&D off a much higher mark (63) over a year ago and has won on the AW since then but is operating well below his best at the moment and needs to bounce back.

Form is only modest and she comes back into handicaps after running her last three starts in maidens. Will have more chance in handicaps although like a few in this she doesn't have much solid form to her name and question marks remain over her form.

Yet to get off the mark but has shown a little bit of form in handicaps off lowly marks on the AW and if she can transfer that form to turf (not run in a turf handicap). May be worth taking a chance with at this lowly level with not many in form here.

Like a few in this hardly a prolific winner and his recent form isn't really that inspiring and even in a weak contest he can probably be passed over.

Forecasts

Deer Song (7/4), Ask The Guru (7/2), Camino (4/1), Ginger Truffle (5/1), Archie Stevens (8/1), Rat Catcher (20/1)

Verdict

Hardly a race to dwell on given that the ones likely to be towards the head of the market have yet to win a race and this probably gives Deer Song the best chance of breaking his maiden. However, Camino making a rare foray onto the turf is preferred with Ask The Guru and Ginger Truffle two who are capable of battling out the minor placings.
  1. Camino
  2. Deer Song
  3. Ask The Guru
