Was in decent form in handicaps and claimers for Ivan Furtado, though yet to hit those heights for current yard. Last turf win came in a Nottingham handicap over 1m2f on soft ground in October 2015.
Notched a deserved win last time out following two place efforts in competitive races at Bath and Nottingham. Dropped back to 7f to get off the mark on good to soft but put up 5lb and back up to 1m this evening.
Successful five times in a 37 race career to date. Placed twice from five starts at Dundalk including over this trip so far in 2017. Finished well beaten over hurdles on his most recent outing. First start for new connection following move from Joseph O'Brien.
Royal Applause gelding has not been seen for 581 when finishing fifth of 11 in a Wolverhampton handicap. First start for new yard following move from Charles Hills for whom he won six of his 27 starts.
Formerly with the sadly now retired Ed McMahon he has his second run here for his new yard following finishing last of five in a Newmarket class 4 handicap over 7f on soft ground.. Runs off 75 having scored at Ripon last August off 2lb lower gaining a hard-fought win over a mile.
Second start for trainer following move from David Watchman's this season. Disappointing 10th of 12 on stable debut in a Chepstow class 5 handicap over 1m on good to soft. Rated as high as 98 during Irish campaign.
Thirteen race maiden who shaped better than the bare result when sixth of thirteen at Lingfield, before finishing second of 14 at Kempton in November. Last seen in December finishing second of four in a Lingfield maiden. Has two place efforts to his name at this course.
Admirable veteran who notched his 15th success at Brighton in May. Has three C&D victories and six places at the track.
Well beaten on all six starts to date and yet to place. Finished last of five at Brighton and last of eight at Good wood last time and appears to be regressing.
Forecasts
Manton Grange (10/11), The Salmon Man (9/2), Fit For The Job (15/2), Shifting Star (8/1), Ogbourne Downs (8/1), Venutius (16/1), Udogo (25/1), Tarseekh (40/1), Ready (40/1)
Veteran Shifting Star should take them here with Ready, Udogo and Venutius racing prominently. Historical pace data suggest a bias for those racing close or with the pace, negatives for those regularly held up. Those at the top of the weights should go well if ridden handily, with Ready, multiple winner in class 4 contests, Ventius who goes well on the ground and is a six-time distance winner with UDOGO who has his first start for new yard, fighting out the finish.
- Udogo
- Ready
- Venutius
