Failed to land a blow when with Aidan O'Brien, and that trend continued on his first run for his new trainer, despite an attractive pedigree.
Never figured in his runs in maidens and was no better when starting off in handicaps last time out. Plenty more needed in first time cheek pieces.
Has if anything shown even more moderate form since switching to handicaps compared to his performances in maidens, and looks likely to prove ineffective long-term off similar handicap marks to this.
Slightly inconsistent type but has shown than he is fully capable of running a big race when he wants to. Interesting stepped up to this trip for the first time.
No real impression on handicap debut over C&D last time out but has been dropped 3lb now and may improve for a return to this course but on what should be much quicker ground. Draw definitely a negative.
Ran her best race in some time at Bath last time (8f. soft), despite her rider dropping his whip. Not out of this if she can replicate that level of form on the same mark and returning to a sounder surface.
Winner on handicap debut at Wolverhampton in March (7f, standard), and has acquitted himself well since, without hinting that a second career win is necessarily coming up soon.
Makes her handicap debut having run easily the best race of her five appearances in maidens at Beverley last time out (7½f, soft). Needs to prove she's as effective on a sounder surface off the mark, and wears first time cheek pieces.
Never got involved in any of her three attempts at maidens and doesn't look to be on an attractive enough mark to change that now making her handicap debut.
Steps up in trip having been campaigned solely at 6f up to this point. Has plenty to prove on form, but no reason she shouldn't stay, and potentially improve for, the first attempt at 1m.
Ran what easily a career best at Musselburgh last time out (7f, good to firm), and is clearly improving from his poorer displays in handicaps. Step up in trip should suit on the available evidence.
Yet to finish within 5L of a winner in maiden, novice or handicap company and 2lb further give from the handicapper seems unlikely to be sufficient following a poor run over C&D last time out.
One of the more experienced runners in the field but yet to pick up a first career win and looks like she may need some more help from the handicapper before doing so.

If able to act on this likely faster ground as well as she did in softer conditions last time, then ORIENTELLE may be the one to take this. She looks a genuine improver and ran a very eye-catching race at Beverley last time in a maiden, shaping like the sort of horse to win a handicap early on in her career. It may be that the softer conditions benefited her but if that wasn't what made the difference she can improve again in first time cheek pieces to win here. Kelpie Spirit also ran a career-best last time and is another to consider, ahead of Secret Memories, who was unlucky not to get closer to the winner at Bath last time.

- Kelpie Spirit
