Showed some improvement for his first run but still beat just the one home when 5L in arrears at Newcastle last time. Should be able to continue building, though may do better in nurseries after this run.
Half-brother to 7f winner Zefferino out of an unplaced mare (1m, AW) who is a half-sister to 1m Group One winner Spinning Queen. Top stable has only had one juvenile runner on turf to date, so not easy to tell how forward they are this year, though the yard's average strike rate in recent seasons is a healthy 16%. Market check advised.

€23,000 foal, rising to €60,000 in last month's juvenile breeze-ups. Half-brother to French 7f-1m winner Lotus Garden out of an unraced half-sister to Listed winners Snippets (1m4f) and Need You Now (7f, 2yo). Pedigree suggests that this will be sharp enough even for his debut, but stable's juveniles in tremendous form so can't rule out.

18-1 and ran green enough on debut at Windsor (5f, good to firm) when an 11½L sixth of 10. Should come on for the experience and will be looking for some improvement this time.

Started over 6f at Lingfield (good to firm) earlier in the month and was a 10½L seventh of eight at 25-1 that day. Now dropped in trip as he returns to the track to learn more about the game, though takes a leap of faith to see him winning this time.

Made a quiet debut at York last month in what is usually a decent race and is working out to be a solid one again this time. Was a 5½L seventh of eight there (6f, good to soft), running green and never competitive, but should come on plenty for that and it would be no surprise to see him figure this time.

First foal of a 6f-1m3f maiden half-sister to minor winners up to 1m, out of a 5f 2yo winner. Stable's juveniles not yet got going this year, but usually have around a 10% strike rate. Probably one to watch for today.

Raced keenly on debut when a 13½L ninth of 10 (6f, AW) at Chelmsford on his debut last month. Needs to build on that this time.

Put up one of the better performances of those involved here when beaten less than 2L over C&D on debut (good to soft) earlier in the month. Some improvement likely and that should be enough to see him go very close.

Forecasts

Glaceon (5/4), Global Academy (7/2), Global Passion (9/2), New Empire (11/2), Dream Prospect (15/2), Branscombe (8/1), Haven's View (16/1), Mossketeer (25/1), Wiff Waff (40/1), Swift Fox (66/1)

Verdict

With the Charlie Hills juveniles doing so well, Global Passion is likely to be able to give a good account here, but the speed may come from stalls six and seven, where GLACEON and Global Academy are drawn together and it is the former who is suggested. Richard Hannon's filly also has experience of the track here, which will do no harm and there is little to choose in the initial form of the pair, though she may be open to more immediate improvement. New Empire is another likely to be involved.
  1. Glaceon
  2. Global Passion
  3. Global Academy
