Never made the racecourse as a two-year-old and there is nothing of note in her pedigree or profile to suggest she is an appealing betting proposition first time out.
Nearest at the finish when fourth of nine on her only juvenile start over 7f at Brighton but unfancied and soundly beaten over 1m at Nottingham on her return. Looks one for handicaps.
Well-backed on her debut at Goodwood last month but appeared to find that sharp 7f an insufficient test. Eyecatching pedigree and likely there is much more to come over this extra furlong with experience to draw on. Yard won this last year.
Cost $120,000 and has shaped encouragingly in two 7f maidens on this course, the latest on soft ground when a 1/2L second behind Almoreb. Likely to appreciate this extra furlong and should give another good account.
Showed very little on her debut over 7f on the AW and found only marginal improvement over an extra furlong on turf at Windsor last month. Unlikely to be up to winning this.
Having cost 30,000 guineas a foal, she changed hands for a whopping £180,000 as a yearling. For that reason alone, she is entitled to plenty of respect first time out, particularly if the market vibes are positive.
A half-sister to numerous winners, including the smart performers Mandaean and Wavering. Definitely worth a second look on her racecourse debut getting maximum assistance from the saddle.
Unlucky not to have already won a race, having finished a runner-up three times over 6f/7f and running well in the other (1m, AW) considering she half-reared at the start. Likely to again make presence felt.
Cost 50,000 guineas as a yearling and comes from a good family. Yard is fully adept in the art of readying a newcomer and positivity in the market would make her interesting.
Appeared to be crying out for further when chasing home comfortable winner, Isabel's On It, when making an encouraging debut over 7f at at Lingfield earlier this month. Cost 145,000, so likely there is much more to come now upped to a more suitable trip.
Unfancied and soundly beaten in two 7f maidens at Salisbury and this track so far. This extra furlong should help but hard to envisage her threatening the places all the same.
Changed hands for as much as 300,000 guineas as a yearling and, though her pedigree suggests further will be appreciated in time, she is very much one to note first time out.
Forecasts
Spinnaka (11/4), Deleyla (5/1), Shimmering Light (6/1), Highway One (6/1), What A Home (7/1), Unified (7/1), Standing Rock (10/1), Qelmim (16/1), Know The Truth (40/1), Vixen (66/1), Dancing Dragon (66/1), Brave Tart (100/1)
Some interesting newcomers, particularly Qelmim and Shimmering Light whilst Highway One and Spinnaka have both shown enough to suggest it won't be long before they lose their maiden tags. The one to beat though may be DELEYLA who looked badly in need of the experience on her debut over an inadequate 7f at Goodwood. The fact that she was well backed beforehand suggests there's more to come and she represents a yard which won this maiden last year.
- Deleyla
- Highway One
- Qelmim
