Third on his only start over 10f in France when trained by Andre Fabre, he showed little on his debut for his current stable when 11th of 13 at Kempton over 3f shorter. Back on turf and up in trip, which should suit, but likely to be more effective once handicapping.

Green, but showed promise on both AW starts for Roger Charlton. He makes his debut for a new yard and tries his luck on turf. Looks a work in progress who should do better in handicaps.

Showed fair form in three decent maidens as a juvenile, two of them at Newbury. Steps up in trip for his 3yo reappearance run and has a lay-off to overcome, but he is in good hands and is unlikely to want for fitness. One of the main contenders in an ordinary maiden.
Authorized half-brother to fair 1m winner Hold Firm. Did not run as a juvenile so has presumably been backward and represents a trainer who does not rush his horses. Likely to need the outing.

Street Cry half-brother to sprinter Huntsmans Close and Burghley, who has won races over 7f and a mile. Second on his 2yo debut at Newcastle in November and steps up 3f in trip here. Might be worth opposing given nagging stamina doubts.

Plenty of promise on both starts. Ran well on his reappearance at Nottingham and although he is likely to need further than this in time, his proven stamina may count for a lot in a race which might not take too much winning.

Half-sister to five winners over a variety of distances, she needed the experience when last of nine in a Salisbury maiden in October. It would be wrong to judge her too harshly on that one effort, but she clearly needs to step up to play a part in this.

Poet's Voice half-sister to six winners at round a mile and 10f, she was always in rear when last of 11 on her debut at Goodwood last month. She should improve on that, but it is fair to assume her trainer will already have one eye on handicaps for her.

Forecasts

Creek Walk (6/4), Sporting Times (15/8), Asaas (5/2), Tyrolean (20/1), Abaad (25/1), Everlasting Sea (50/1), Clearance (50/1), Sampaquita (66/1)

Verdict

This appears to revolve around three horses from Newmarket yards. Creek Walk will be popular with punters after finishing second on his only start as a juvenile, while Abaad showed enough in three runs as a 2yo to suggest a maiden is within his compass. However, both have to prove their stamina, which is not an issue for SPORTING TIMES, who is bred to get further in time and can prevail if made plenty of use of.
  1. Sporting Times
  2. Abaad
  3. Creek Walk
