British EBF Maiden Stakes

Motivator gelding well beaten on both starts to date. The type to do better in handicaps.

Very green on debut in a Chepstow 1m2f maiden in early May when 33/1. Likely to improve for that run but would have to improve greatly to make a mark here on just his second start.

Fourth in a decent maiden on debut at Nottingham and returned this year with a fine effort at Windsor when only narrowly beaten. Each-way player once again and should come on for that run.

Showed a little promise in two starts last year but improved on all known form to finish runner-up at Newmarket and finished in front of several subsequent winners. Trainer's runners often come on for their seasonal reappearance so every chance he'll be too good for these.

Sea The Stars colt, cost 62,000 gns as a foal. Half-brother to several winners including Class Is Class and dam was placed in Group company over 6f. Hasn't shown enough on either start at Newbury to make him of interest in this contest.

Le Havre colt, cost €15,000 as a yearling and 300,000 gns as a Breeze-Up purchase. Trainer very much capable of readying one for a debut and he has a 50% strike-rate (4-8) when teaming up with this jockey around here. Most interesting of the newcomers.

Galileo colt, cost €250,000 as a yearling. Too green to do himself justice on debut but ought to be sharper for that effort. Draw not ideal.

Poet's Voice colt, cost 25,000 gns. Very green on debut but better last time when not beaten all that at Lingfield on good to firm ground. Will have to deal with softer conditions here and needs to improve again to take any sort of hand, especially from this draw.

Quality Road colt, closely related to That Which Is Not who won over this sort of trip as well as several other useful types. Very green on debut though and probably in need of more time.

Casamento gelding, cost €32,000 as a foal. Well beaten on both starts to date and rates as the type to do better in handicaps once qualified for a mark.

Le Havre filly, cost €60,000 as a yearling. Half-sister to Listed winner Trip To Glory and dam was closely related to Grade 2 winner Pharisien. Trainer and jockey have a fine strike-rate at this course of 22.06% (15-68) so not discounted if there's any market support.

Nathaniel filly, related to Listed winner Oscar Gal and dam was a full sister to Group 3 winner Opera Cape. Yard in excellent form and plenty to like about her pedigree. Market can reveal expectations on debut.

Lawman filly, cost 230,000 gns as a yearling. Half-sister to Listed winner Chartreuse, dam was Group placed over a mile and half-sister to Group 3 winners Albisola and Johnny Barnes. No surprise to see her go well on debut and trainer in flying form in recent weeks with nine winners from their last 32 runners. Engaged at Goodwood on Sunday.
