Winner of two races last term including one over C&D. Runner-up Sir Billy Wright is weighted to turn the tables here though. Has looked a shade below par this term whilst his stable went through a quiet spell. Things are now looking more positive for the team and ,having posted a more encouraging effort last time, he is down to his last winning mark.
Four of his five victories have come over 7f but seems equally effective at this trip. Form has nosedived since latest victory and back to same mark here.
Made all to register a shock win under this rider last month and ridden with more restraint at Goodwood when denied a clear run ten days ago. Won off higher last term and should go well again.
Has won and finished second here in two starts. Well weighted with Munfallet on running here last autumn but latest effort was tame.
Eight of her ten victories have come at Bath or Brighton and et to win from a mark this high. Has plenty to prove on seasonal bow and with yard relatively quiet.
Capable but ungenuine may well be the best way to sum him up and he often gives himself a lot to do with a slow start. Soon gave up the chase when brought under pressure last time and he is best avoided for now.
Won four races over 5f for Willie Muir but has struggled for new yard. Ran better than his final position suggests at Ascot last time having travelled well in the rear and then denied a clear run when making his effort. Drops to a career low mark and not easily dismissed.
Defied the handicapper over a variety of distances last summer which saw his rating leap from 49 to 78. Has dropped below his last winning mark following two runs when yard were not really firing and he ought to be a different proposition now.
Winner of three claimers for the Haggas team. Ran better in a class five contest last time but steps up again to a level where he has struggled previously.
C&D winner who scored at Southwell in January. Suited to slow ground and has to race from out of the handicap. Claimer helps to mitigate the disadvantage but he looks out of his depth in this grade.

Equally Fast and Satchville Flyer are on good handicap marks at present and their yards are looking in better shape recently. Both should give good accounts at potentially rewarding odds but the vote goes to ENGLISHMAN. Milton Bradley's charge scored in higher grade at Windsor but still remains below the mark which brought him a Newmarket victory in 2016. There are more races to be won with him whilst in such good shape and today would be as good a day as any.
