A rare run over a trip this short and although he shows plenty of dash at longer trips you have to question if he has the pace for the minimum trip. His mark is now down to a career low though and this is his best chance of winning a handicap for a while.

Five-time C&D winner (has won eight times in total at track) who runs here under a penalty for a rare turf win at Brighton off a basement mark (career low) making all. Has shown some of his old zip of late and will be dangerous if in the same mood here returned to the Fibresand.

Needed the drop to a 0-60 for her last win and is down even further in grade here although she does look to be just ticking over at the moment. Has only had one run on this surface (failed to convince) and even off a mark as low as this still has questions to answer on this surface.

Draw towards the stands side on the straight course isn't ideal and most if not all of her handicap form has been modest. Has her first taste of the Fibresand here and may be found wanting.

No great shakes and still a maiden after 20 starts despite some creditable efforts when placed in handicaps albeit off lowly marks. Took well to this surface on her penultimate start over 5f travelling well throughout although he's not one to go overboard about especially as he ran a poor race next time out.

Last win came last year off a mark of 51 when dead-heating a Lingfield on the AW typically attempting to make all. Does have form on this surface (yet to win here) but may well get taken on for the lead here and could get isolated from stall 1.

Has shown very little so far in three sprint maidens on the AW with the last of them coming here over 5f when a 125/1 shot. Now goes handicapping off a basement mark but still hard to fancy even in this lowly company.

Yet to beat a rival having run in three sprint maidens and going handicapping will have to produce a significant improvement. Even this poor contest looks too tough on what he's achieved so far.

Forecasts

Sir Geoffrey (3/1), Llewellyn (4/1), Toni's A Star (4/1), Kodimoor (9/2), Red Flute (5/1), Excellent World (12/1), Slipalongtrevaskis (20/1), Tartufo Classico (25/1)

Verdict

A very low grade finale and very few of these have much to recommend them. Red Flute does have some form here but could get involved in a battle for the lead here with Llewellyn who drops to his lowest level for quite some time over a trip he’s rarely seen over. This is probably just about the best chance that Kodimoor has had to win a race for quite some while although his form overall is rather patchy. SIR GEOFFREY is at least a multiple winner on this surface and despite the fact that he may face a contested lead here he is at least a winner and may be able to follow-up his Brighton success under a penalty.
  1. Sir Geoffrey
  2. Kodimoor
  3. Red Flute
