There was promise in a couple of his maiden runs as a juvenile and that same promise was there on his handicap debut at Nottingham. Could be expected to come on for that run and still has progress within him.

Like many in this there was distinct promise in his maiden starts as a two-year-old and he was sent off a favourite on his handicap debut. Shaped better that the bare result and still remains with potential.

The maiden form was seen as fair and he was sent off favourite for the last of them (still looked a bit rough around the edges) before making his handicap debut last time out. Raced freely on that occasion and may be better back over a mile for now although still not written off easily.

Progress has been gradual at best in maidens all on the AW and he was in trouble a long way out in a tough handicap on his debut over a mile. Takes a drop in class here stepping up in trip and probably needs to show a little more to take a hand here.

Headgear goes on for the first time here as he moves back in trip after being below form on his handicap debut over 1m4f. Bred to stay that far but not really getting home and still questions to answer.

Typically for one from this stable he had plenty of racing as a two-year-old and he opened his account with a win over a mile on the AW on his third handicap start. Now back on the turf off a 7lb mark at a course the yard do well at and hard to rule out further improvement.

Makes her turf debut here after winning twice on the AW in maiden and handicap company but was below that form when upped in trip to 1m2f last time out. Possibly unsuited by the way that race developed still has questions to answer on turf debut.

First couple of runs showed that he did have some ability but his subsequent runs have looked to be regressive. Beaten a long way last time out at Southwell on the Fibresand and needs to show more here as he returns to turf.

Hood plus a handicap debut over a longer trip look as though they could bring about some improvement especially given the promise shown in maidens.

One of the most experienced runners in this field having taken plenty of time to get off the mark and did so on the AW at Chelmsford. Now off a 7lb higher mark but still looks capable off this mark having shown he can act on turf.

Handicap debut was pretty disappointing over a mile at Kempton on the AW and the hood goes on here in an effort to find some improvement. Some of her maiden form was fair but she really does need to take a step forward here.

His handicap debut looked to show some improvement (shaped well) but he failed to build on that run next time out off the same opening mark. Probably needs to show something like his debut form in a handicap to trouble the principals here.

After the requisite qualifying runs last year he took a major step forward on his handicap debut over a mile at Windsor. Took ages to get into the race (held-up for a long way) and not given anything like a hard time before being hampered and finished with running left in him and could well leave this behind on his second handicap start.

Verdict

Of the two divisions of this three-year-old handicap this looks to be the one that contains the more exposed individuals with only one making their handicap debut. There’s no doubt that FIELDS OF FORTUNE ran far better than his finishing position suggested on his handicap debut and he looks as though he still has improvement in him. Road To Dubai and Moneyoryourlife are two others that are worthy of note while the Johnston runner Dominating is hard to rule out along with Duchess Of Fife who makes her handicap debut with the hood employed for the first time. Of those at bigger prices Mr Scaff makes the most appeal having finished with full of running last time out.

  2. Duchess Of Fife
  3. Mr Scaff
