Only seen the racecourse once and when doing so he thrashed a bumper field at Carlisle by 13L. The third that day won next time and has scored over hurdles since, now being rated at around 120. Looks to have had problems since, but unlikely to be any fitness issues given his trainer and could return with another good run.

Won here on debut in November before being tried and well beaten in Listed company last time. Tongue strap added today and carries penalty for the win, but should be capable of having a say if handling better ground as well as he does soft.
Landed a Kempton bumper on debut (good to soft) in February and ran really well under his penalty at Huntingdon next time. No reason why he can't be competitive again, although clearly vulnerable.

£4,200 purchase. Full-brother to a French 2m4f chase winner and half-brother to two other winners over hurdles/fences. Dam won 2m3f chase and is full-sister to another chase scorer. Likely to do better over further and over obstacles and others make more appeal for today.
€46,000 purchase as a three-year-old and making his debut today. Dam won over hurdles at 2m and is closely related to staying hurdle winner Millrock Lady, multiple staying chase winner Strath Royal and Irish National winner Niche Market. Quiet debut at Chepstow can be improved on today and market check advised.
€35,000 buy out of an Italian maiden who is a half-sister to the high class bumper/2m-2m5f hurdle winner Dunguib. Yard has done well in these contests in the past and interesting jockey booking, so market check is advised.

£3,000 buy who is a half-brother to an 2m-2m3f chase winner. Outpaced when the tap was turned on on his Huntingdon debut, though that was probably expected and looks likely to need both time and a longer trip.
Cost 10,000 GNS as a 2yo and has very much a Flat pedigree, with little emphasis on stamina. Looks best watched representing a stable without a bumper winner in some years.

Made his debut at Huntingdon last month for Charlie Longsdon but has since changed hands. Related to plenty of National Hunt success and grandam is a half-sister to a bumper winner. Needs to improve significantly on first effort to figure.
7,000 GNS purchase and related to Flat success at 1m-1m4f, may have the stamina to see this out on debut. Stable 13% in bumpers in recent seasons and market support for her would be very interesting.

Forecasts

Peculiar Places (9/4), Country'n'western (9/2), Haafapiece (9/2), Settie Hill (5/1), Infinite Sun (11/2), Go Go Lucas (12/1), Oriental Cross (16/1), The Bottom Bar (16/1), Cloth Cap (20/1), Xin Chao (25/1), Oregon Gold (66/1), Wick Green (66/1), Ciboir (66/1)

Verdict

The three previous winners all retain interest going into this, with Haafapiece and Infinite Sun both very much respected, though given how he did the job on debut, freshness is not an issue for COUNTRY'N'WESTERN, who may be capable of repeating the dose. David Elsworth will have left nothing to chance after an absence and it would be no surprise if he were fit to win first time back. Oriental Cross needs a market check, as do Cloth Cap and Peculiar Places in what will be an informative and competitive heat.
