Six-race maiden, faded in the closing stages at Lingfield on sole start this year which was 52 days ago. Blinkers and tongue tie are retained now for this first crack at the mile. Needs more.
Is now 7lb lower in the ratings than when beat just over 4L over C&D in September, first start since November and needs to find a bit more to get off the mark.
Turf winner has yet to score on AW, though did run a fair race over this trip at Lingfield last month when fourth. Drops 2lb here and isn't to be dismissed out of hand.
Form in four maidens has an ordinary look to it, hard to be confident in a major change in fortunes now taking chance in a handicap for the first time.
Finished well over this C&D 26 days ago to be beaten 5L, will be hoping for a bit more pace on this time around and can get close if that is the case.
Just failed to last out over C&D last time and has been raised 3lb for a neck defeat. Place claims again but remains a maiden after 16 attempts.
Closely matched with Masquerade Bling on recent C&D outing, rallied well there having cut out the running and been headed. Can have a big say again under less pressing tactics.
Trailed home last in a Windsor handicap on turf earlier this month and has much to ponder coming here. Looks up against it on current terms.
Swooped late to score over C&D last time (Masquerade Bling and Metronomic right behind) and may face a stiff task to uphold that form now on revised terms.
Stayed on to take third over C&D 17 days ago, a 2lb rise for that effort limits his appeal for win purposes here.
Forecasts
Metronomic (10/3), Plato's Kode (9/2), De Vegas Kid (6/1), Masquerade Bling (7/1), London Grammar (7/1), Epsom Secret (10/1), Ivor's Magic (10/1), Ocean Temptress (12/1), Delagate This Lord (20/1), Jasmincita (66/1)
METRONOMIC was ridden forcefully over this C&D recently and, having been headed, he rallied gamely and went down on his sword. Better off with rivals London Grammar and Masquerade Bling from that contest, he's fancied to make amends this time around. The latter pair however are not discounted easily. Ivor's Magic showed enough at Lingfield last time to merit some consideration while De Vegas Kid could have a say if the pace is generous.
- Metronomic
- London Grammar
- De Vegas Kid
