Angled through the pack to score at 33/1 last time. Had a few of these behind that day and is 4lb higher here. Has now won two of his four starts for this yard. Should go well again.

Now 2lb better off with Wentworth Falls with half a length to find on running at Doncaster last time. Stable's horses are running better now than they were then so it would be little surprise if those placings were reversed.

Showed a great battling attitude to fight back, after making the running and being headed, to win two races last autumn under today's rider. There must be a fear he will just set this up for race fit rivals who require the quick fractions he sets.

Fared better than most of those raced prominently in Wentworth Falls' race at Doncaster. Yet to win from a mark as high as this.

Started 2016 in grand style when scoring on his first two starts. Yard rarely have their runners forward at this early stage of the season and this race may be a couple of weeks too early for him.

Stable had a well supported sprint winner at Musselburgh on Saturday. Appears to have work to do at the weights but a market move would make him more interesting.

Winner of two races last term. This mark and this calibre of opponent presents him with a tough task from a 5lb higher mark than for his last victory.

Won first time out last season and another victory at Chester saw him rise from a mark of 68 to 86. Finished last on his only run from this level.

Progressed to win three races last term, the latest from a 2lb lower mark. Faced some stiff tasks as a result and more recently has been racing over further. Has a tough draw to overcome.

Took one race to prime him for victory in 2015 and two races in 2016. Finished last in Wentworth Falls' race at Doncaster and that has seen him drop to the same mark as for the last of his four victories last year. Goes well for today's rider.

Ran well without winning in 2016 including when beaten a nose off a 2lb lower mark at Ayr on soft ground in October. Has now gone 19 races without a win and arrives with yard struggling for winners and conditions probably quicker than ideal.

Landed two races in 2016 and not disgraced in a valuable York sprint off 1lb higher. Has previously needed a couple of runs to get him ready and will have bigger prizes than this in mind.

Won first time out in 2014 and 2015. Was favourite to do likewise last season at the Craven meeting but disappointed as he did on a number of subsequent occasions, albeit in hotter company than this.. Yard are in tremendous form.

Forecasts

Wentworth Falls (9/2), Handsome Dude (7/1), Ninjago (7/1), Grandad's World (15/2), Laughton (8/1), Escalating (8/1), Munfallet (9/1), Musharrif (12/1), See The Sun (14/1), Kenny The Captain (16/1), Highly Sprung (16/1), Cosmic Chatter (20/1), Tiger Jim (25/1), Jaywalker (33/1), Bossipop (33/1)

Verdict

There will be a good pace which will set things up nicely for a few in this. Notable amongst these are Ninjago and Wentworth Falls who contested a competitive race at Doncaster where Geoff Harker's horse came out on top. Ninjago is fancied to turn the tables with the yard in better form more recently. Both may have to settle for minor honours behind GRANDAD'S WORLD. He has won first time out on two previous occasions but largely struggled last season in better class races. His yard are going well and this looks a good opportunity to gain an overdue sucess.
  1. Grandad's World
  2. Ninjago
  3. Wentworth Falls
