Nags Head Supports Catterick Champions' Awards Handicap

Only handicap win was in this grade at Leicester from 7lb lower and went well from 2lb higher next time. Has failed to threaten in all four starts since then, three of which have been since being gelded and the last one being for this in-for yard. This trip more suitable though and still has claims.

Went close in a couple of maidens in the autumn and also on his handicap debut from today's mark. Those runs were for John Gosden, but has joined this yard since and looks capable of making an impact over this sort of trip this season.

Sole success was in a Windsor maiden in 2013 for John Gosden. Spent almost two years off the track but could not win in four runs for James Lambe and then went through the hands of David Barron without making the racecourse. Has had three races for current yard after another lengthy absence and shown up well enough. Competitive.

7lb lower than when last winning, at Wolverhampton in December 2015 and showed more prominently back there last time. Next win not likely to be too far away.

Scored over 1m4f here (good) a couple of years ago from 1lb lower. Went well back here over hurdles in recent months, but more out of form than in going into this and hard to be confident about him.

2lb higher than when scoring at Musselburgh in September (1m4½f good), so should be competitive, although has been out for form since. Market check probably best guide.

1-25 career profile and that was from 3lb lower than today at Ffos Las a couple of years back. Has been competitive in numerous defeats in the interim so entitled to each-way claims but hard to envisage him winning again just yet.

Same mark as when winning here over 1m4f almost a year ago and looks very interesting now with top pilot booked for the first time, though nagging doubt over stamina over this far.

This venue has not been kind to him on the Flat or over hurdles, although in reasonable form lately in the latter discipline since joining current yard. 3lb higher than last Flat win for Dianne Sayer at Ayr in August and probably has each-way claims.

Racked up a Newcastle four-timer in the winter, rising 23lb as a result. Has gone well twice from three runs since then and was not stopping over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last time, so extra 2f here may eek out a bit more and should go close again.

Won on fast ground at Haydock in August from 2lb lower and did well when stepped up to 2m on his only subsequent run, from today's mark. Has to enter calculations if stripping fit enough on reappearance.

9lb higher than when winning on the Tapeta at Newcastle in January, though his turf form is better and he is now 2lb lower than when winning at Ripon last May. Claims on that basis although better over further than this.

5lb rise for a comfortable Wolverhampton win over 1m4f last time. Stays this far and should be capable of getting heavily involved once again.

Heavy ground French winner over 1m3f last year but British handicapper already appears to be in total control if his first two starts for new yard are any guide.

Took a Carlisle handicap in August (2m1f, good) from 5lb lower. Has been kept going without success over jumps and needs to regain some spark for a return to the Flat to be winning this.
