Beat Estibaad in similar grade at Kempton in October and that rival is weighted to turn the tables. He did appear to have a bit in hand that day and the handicapper punished him as a result. Well beaten in better company since and dropped to a more reasonable mark here.

Has been running consistently well on the tapeta this winter and has run to a good level here in the past. Win came over 8.5f and has not quite lasted home previously over this trip. Jockey has produced a 54.5 points profit for the yard.

Just the one win from her first 15 starts but improved to win gamely over 1m4f at Kempton last month (4lb lower mark). Would need to step up on that again to prevail over this shorter trip.

Two of his three wins have come here. Has yet to make the frame from a mark above 60 so obviously faces a difficult test here.

Has three wins over 1m4f-2m. Without a win since December 2015 and the occasional bold show since has prevented the handicapper from cutting her some slack. Has a stiff task from this mark over a trip that looks short of her best.

Front runner who is without a win since 2015. Triple C&D winner gets a 6lb pull with Fast And Hot for ¾L on running at Kempton in October. Has not run to that level since and the winner did have something in hand. Cheekpieces are now being tried.

C&D winner last July off 1lb lower. Appeared to be approaching his best again last time at Newcastle and this easier track will be more to his liking.

C&D winner but appears better suited to longer trips these days. His tendency to start slowly has been a handicap of late. Has a lot to find with Estibdaad on running at Kempton last time.

Showed a bit more for the fitting of a hood last time when noted passing beaten horses over 8.5f. Still has a lot to prove from 6lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Roman De Brut (11/4), Estibdaad (7/2), Fast And Hot (9/2), Ruby Wednesday (13/2), Runaiocht (15/2), Embankment (11/1), Golly Miss Molly (16/1), Munsarim (20/1), Foylesideview (25/1)

Verdict

ROMAN DE BRUT has looked in need of some help from the handicapper but may find this trip on this easier track the solution against rivals who are not easy to win with nowadays. Estibdaad came up against a well handicapped horse last time. He is weighted to reverse placings with Fast And Hot on running at Kempton in the autumn. The fact Richard Hannon's charge won with something to spare, and that Estibdaad is so difficult to win with, suggests the topweight will confirm those placings.
  1. Roman De Brut
  2. Fast And Hot
  3. Estibdaad
