In tremendous heart at present and reunites with rider who partnered him to a 25/1 success at Newcastle recently. Not disgraced in two runs since. Closely matched with Powerful Dream on running here in February.
Has been running well in defeat since landing a race over C&D in November. Has dropped a little in the weights but is still 5lb above that winning mark. Has a record of three wins and four runner-up spots in his last 10 races
Overcame trouble in running to land her second C&D success in February. Closely matched with Bahango on that effort. Ran into traffic problems last time and has been raised 2lb for her trouble.
Shows best form when fresh and returned from a similar break to score over C&D a year ago. Followed up on turf subsequently and remains 2lb above that winning mark.
Nine time winner who as been unlucky not to add that tally recently. Most notably looked unlucky when going down to Powerful Dream here in February and renews rivalry on 5lb better terms. Good claimer adds to the attractions.
5f winner for Rae Guest last season. Not disgraced on first two runs for new yard over 6f. Back to optimum trip but suspect she remains too high in the weights.
Landed a gamble to score at Newcastle last November. Has won off higher marks than this in the past. More recent evidence indicates a further drop may be needed.
Winner of a poor race at Newcastle and well held in both starts since. Has dropped a little in the weights but probably needs even more assistance from the handicapper.
Forecasts
Bahango (9/4), Powerful Dream (9/2), Compton River (5/1), Vale Of Flight (7/1), Groundworker (15/2), Temple Road (15/2), Monsieur Paddy (8/1), China Excels (20/1)
TEMPLE ROAD is weighted to reverse recent placings with Powerful Dream and Bahango on running here in February. He has been beaten in two runs since when he has again encountered problems. There should be a good pace on here and, with Ben Robinson claiming a valuable 7lb, he can land his 10th career success. Powerful Dream and Bahango are closely matched but the race is more likely to be run to suit Ron Harris' filly. Compton River does not know how to run a bad race and he should be thereabouts in a contest where he can lie up with the pace and benefit from any trouble behind.
- Temple Road
- Compton River
- Powerful Dream
