Two runs in maidens at Chelmsford have shown very little and much more needed to take a hand here.
Made his debut over 5f at Chelmsford recently and finished last of a sextet there. Best watched in this.
Has had enough chances to break his maiden now and will get his first experience on Fibresand in this. Would clearly have a chance on form but hard to decipher from his pedigree if he will be suited by this surface.
Made his debut on turf over this trip at Haydock in May and only seen once since then when third at Wolverhampton over 7f. Steps back to 5f here on a surface that he hasn't experienced before by a sire (Compton Place) who has a modest record in Fibresand.
Another long standing maiden who has some form which would see him take this but the surface is an unknown. No great encouragement from his pedigree that he will act on this surface and has looked a hard ride on occasions.
Just had a couple of run so far and the best of those was his fourth here last time out over C&D. That was only poor form though and he would still need to show more.
Tried on Fibresand for the first time on her last start and although she may have needed the run she still showed very little.
Yet to run on Fibresand but has a pedigree that says she should be suited by it and her run last time out at Chelmsford would give her a chance in a weak heat.
Forecasts
Arzaak (4/7), Hart Stopper (11/4), Sheepscar Lad (7/1), Tooty Fruitti (10/1), Stopdworldnletmeof (16/1), Tartufo Classico (40/1), Joysunny (100/1), Slipalongtrevaskis (125/1)
This certainly isn’t a race to be getting too involved in with the market leaders all unraced on this surface and not really having pedigrees that scream that they will be suited by it. Hart Stopper would be the pick in form terms but the shorter trip is a worry and both Arzaak and Sheepscar Lad have had plenty of chances to break their maidens. In the end it may pay to take a chance with the filly TOOTY FRUITTI who is at least is by a sire (Captain Gerrard) who does well with his progeny here and looked to improve at Chelmsford over 5f last time out.
- Tooty Fruitti
- Hart Stopper
- Arzaak
