Registered a double in September when winning at Ayr (5f) & Pontefract (6f). Wasn't beaten far when sixth off a 3lb higher mark in a valuable event at Haydock subsequently but generally improves for his seasonal debut.
Disappointed last season and handicap mark is falling as a consequence. Now rated 8lb lower than when fourth in the Ayr Gold Cup of 2015 but a bit to prove at present.
Sent off a big price when winning a Class 2 event over C&D in October. Races off a 3lb higher mark here and did win at this meeting on his seasonal return in 2016. Interesting contender.
Ran well in the main without winning last season and finds himself racing off the same mark that saw him victorious at The Curragh in a valuable 6f contest in 2015. Looks the stable pick.
Raced mainly over 7f on the AW recently and beaten 3¾L at Kempton when seventh last time out in February. Rated 5lb lower than when last successful and likely to have a fitness edge on many of these.
Made the frame in three three-year-old only handicap races over 6f last summer. Tried in blinkers (left off here) for final three starts of the season and improved for his seasonal return in 2016.
Not beaten far when finishing fourth in the Ayr Silver Cup over 6f last September but well held at Haydock in cheekpieces (retained here) subsequently. Interesting to see how he fares here.
Had just two starts since being beaten a short-head at 7f on the AW at Newcastle in July. Disappointed on each occasion and both previous victories have come over the minimum trip.
Had two AW starts so far in 2017 and wasn't beaten far in the first of those at Wolverhampton. Final start of 2016 resulted in a close sixth over C&D but last win was over two years ago and more is needed here.
Winner over 6f at Windsor 12 months ago but last two successes have both been over a furlong further. Victorious under today's jockey at Kempton in October and won first time out in 2016.
C&D winner who finished close fourth at Newcastle over this trip on his seasonal debut last month. Races off the same mark as for that C&D success last June and an interesting runner here with the blinkers and hood returning for this.
Consistent sort winning at Redcar and Carlisle over 6f last September prior to a couple of solid places at Ayr and Yarmouth. All those efforts came under today's jockey as did his Newcastle victory last time out and an interesting contender here.
Out of form in the main in 2016 and finds himself on a mark 7lb lower than when successful over this distance at Ripon in September 2015. Handles all ground conditions.
Winner at Beverley off a 3lb lower mark in July. That success came over 5f and runs here off the same mark that saw him finish fourth in this event on seasonal debut last year.
Had just three outings for this yard in 2016 and seemed to improve for the first of those, a race in which he finished a well beaten 11th. Dropped in trip for his second outing when winning off a 3lb lower mark over 5f at Nottingham and interesting having finished seventh at Southwell in February.
Successful over C&D in September when racing off a 7lb lower mark. Had been out of form after that prior to a victory at Newcastle over 6f in February and one to note in the betting here.
Lightly raced having had just the eight outings to date. Winner of a maiden over 6f at Salisbury last May and duly followed up over a furlong further at Newmarket. Remains open to improvement and worth a check in the market.
Winner at Wetherby over an extended 5f on his penultimate outing for previous stable. Could finish only third at Ripon over this distance in June subsequently and has his first run for a new stable having been gelded in this.
Ran well without winning in 2016 including when runner-up in two outings at Haydock over 7f. Best form has generally come over further but has a useful apprentice in the saddle here.
Versatile in terms of distance and successful at Southwell over 5f in February. Rated 4lb higher than for his most recent turf success at Chepstow in May 2016 but has a fitness edge on many of his opponents in this.
Ran well in some valuable contests in 2016 including on his final start when beaten ½L here over 5f in October. Well handicapped on his old form but have to back to August 2013 to find his last victory.
Winner of three of his last four starts of 2016, the exception being when only tenth in a valuable 6f event in Ireland in September. Successful by a nose over this trip at Ayr in October when last in action and any rain would improve his chances.
Forecasts
Muntadab (13/2), George Bowen (13/2), My Amigo (7/1), Eccleston (10/1), Handsome Dude (14/1), Intense Style (14/1), Gunmetal (14/1), Flying Pursuit (14/1), Ninjago (16/1), Golden Amber (16/1), Ower Fly (16/1), Naggers (20/1), Lincoln (20/1), Sir Billy Wright (20/1), Bogart (25/1), Kenny The Captain (25/1), Wentworth Falls (33/1), Toofi (33/1), Lagenda (33/1), My Name Is Rio (33/1), Another Wise Kid (40/1), Northgate Lad (50/1)
OWER FLY appears to be drawn well for this big field 6f handicap and can register a fourth success on turf today. His trainer Richard Hannon was off the mark for the turf season yesterday and has his horses in good form at present, with a low draw and a good apprentice jockey (won on him last time out) he can register a second seasonal debut success in this. Handsome Dude is another to race from the low numbers here and having won already in 2017 at Newcastle he can follow that up with another solid effort to claim second while it would be wrong to rule out Naggers who is drawn in stall 14 but has won two of his last three outings including at Ayr in October.
- Ower Fly
- Handsome Dude
- Naggers
