Stays well and is at least fit from an unspectacular short spell over hurdles. Still 2lb above his last winning mark, but reverts to the Flat at a modest level and did win on his only previous attempt on the AW (at Newcastle). Claims on the pick of his efforts but no easy task on these terms.
Took well to hurdles but was found out in a Grade 3 just before Christmas so connections took up the option of a winter AW campaign; which yielded three placed efforts. Set to race from 7lb higher than his last winning mark in this sphere, so he does need to be on his mettle. But this lacks strength-in-depth and feasible that he may be capable of rising to the challenge.
Justified favouritism over an extended 1m5f here on his penultimate start, before going close under a 4lb higher mark at Wolverhampton next time out. However, considering that he won over C&D from a rating of 59 two years ago, he is still currently on a lenient mark. Likes to come from off the pace so may also benefit from the presence of a couple of keen-going sorts in the field. Sound claims for a place at least.
Posted a couple of decent efforts at Lingfield recently but faded tamely at Kempton last time out and now has a bit to prove. Also off-putting that he can sometimes burn himself out by running too freely. One to be wary of on this occasion.
0-from-15 on the AW and, even though she is 5lb better off with Par Three after their encounter at the start of this month, she still needs to conclusively prove her stamina over the trip and looks one to have reservations about on these terms.
Won off a mark of 49 on her penultimate start but was readily brushed aside from a revised rating last time out. Plenty to find on a literal reading of that form, which combined with the fact that she is still a maiden on the AW, puts her at an awkward disposition this time around.
Unexposed at the trip so possible she may improve for the extra emphasis on her stamina. But notable that she was brushed aside by Par Three the last time they met and hard to see her reversing the from just out of the weights tonight.
Forecasts
Masterson (5/2), Tasty Ginger (3/1), Par Three (6/1), Dream Serenade (6/1), Le Tissier (7/1), Topalova (8/1), Cold Fusion (12/1)
This may pan out to suit PAR THREE, who should get the strong pace he needs and has a live chance of making the most of lenient looking mark. The consistent Tasty Ginger also has to be considered as a leading player on these terms - he is also potentially well treated and poses a bigger threat than Masterson, reverts to the Flat from just a 2lb higher mark than for his last win but has a lot on his plate in giving weight away all round.
- Par Three
- Tasty Ginger
- Masterson
