Seen just twice on the Fibresand (placed once) and all his three AW wins have come at Wolverhampton. Has run poorly on his last two starts (both on Polytrack) and would need to show more to be of interest off a mark of 80.
Returns to the scene of his last win off a 5lb higher mark having not having had much luck in-running last time out when beaten at Wolverhampton with the gallop not being strong enough. Interesting coming back to this track where he is 1/1 and a stronger pace likely.
Was in good form last year winning on five occasions but hasn't managed to place in three visits here and has handicap of stall 1 here also.
Showed up well on his Fibresand debut over this trip. Ran below form here last time out but that was over a trip that was always likely to be too far. Back down in trip but his new mark has kicked in and likely to find this tougher than his win here.
Dual course winner over 7f who won over this trip at Chelmsford last time out to complete a hat-trick. Defied what looked to be a pace and draw bias at that track and looks to have another good chance under a penalty on a surface that he acts well on.
Rather in-and-out-sort who showed some better form in first-time eyeshields over C&D last time. Handicapper has reacted to that run by popping him up 5lb (has been rated higher in the past) and he has to back up his last run in a better grade now.
Not a very straightforward sort despite acting on this surface (won over C&D twice) but the losing run is starting to mount up now. Mark looks handy enough if he was in the mood to use it.
Forecasts
House Of Commons (15/8), Hammer Gun (9/4), Muqarred (6/1), Boots And Spurs (9/1), Order Of Service (10/1), Sands Chorus (10/1), Ellaal (100/1)
An interesting contest that features a few that look to be well suited by this unique surface. House Of Commons is sure to feature in a race where he will struggle to find as much trouble as he did last time and on a surface that he is unbeaten on. Muqarred should fare better over this trip after finding an extended trip too far last time out and both Boots And Spurs and Order Of Service can act well around here although neither are winning machines. HAMMER GUN is on a real roll though and could well have some more improvement left in him back on the Fibresand as he bids to complete a four-timer.
- Hammer Gun
- House Of Commons
- Muqarred
