Sole win was over C&D in September (good) from a 3lb lower mark and he has struggled to replicate that effort in four starts since. However, return to this track and decent going could see an upturn in fortunes.
Made the frame in a couple of bumpers on good ground, including here, in 2015 and handicapper now beginning to give him a chance over hurdles after a 5lb drop. Support for him would probably be significant.
Has been sent off at fancy prices in all four hurdles while qualifying for a handicap mark and starts from a workable 92 today. Dam a half-sister to a 2m hurdle winner although this trip looks fine on what we have seen for this gelding. Market check advised with yard in form.
Went closest to winning over hurdles on handicap debut at Doncaster in January (good) though not as effective in two starts since with cut in the ground. Better conditions likely again here, though looks exposed already and he is another overlooked by Brian Hughes.
3lb higher than when scoring at this venue over 2m1f last time and 1-16 career profile. However, step up in trip on better ground may be able to elicit further improvement now.
3lb better off with Alys Rock for a 2¾L beating by that opponent here last time, so possible she could reverse those placings. Has won both here and also on good ground at Cartmel, though thoroughly exposed and this longer trip not ideal.
Once rated 124 when with Dan Skelton, but there has been a steep descent since then and his only recent success was at Ayr in December from a mark of 76 (2m3f, soft). Handicapper has had his measure since and looks likely to be the same again today.
Dam was a French chase winner from 2m5f-3m1f and a half-sister to the very useful Hussard Collonges, but this gelding has shown nothing of promise for three years and cannot be recommended today.
Sole success from 36 attempts came over 2m1f here in January 2013 (heavy), but has run numerous decent races in defeat at the track. Handicapper giving him a chance, but best efforts have been with cut in the ground and not difficult to dismiss for win purposes.
Didn't stay too long with John Gosden before being dispatched and easy to see why based on some very ordinary form for current yard. Very hard to see him being involved.
Managed back-to-back wins both here (C&D, heavy) and at Newcastle in 2013, the latter from 8lb higher than today. However, has shown nothing in four runs in the past year since returning from a lengthy lay-off.

Another mediocre affair where despite the size of the field there shouldn't be too many involved at the business end. Brian Hughes could have ridden several of these and will sit aboard PIKARNIA, who went well in a bumper here and is the sole runner for her local trainer and is dropping to a workable mark. Ange Des Malberaux could do better now back here on a sound surface, while Alys Rock should be able to confirm placings with Nicky's Nipper over this trip and can again take home some prize money.
