Won what proved to be a weak maiden at Down Royal for David Wachman. Showed signs, on stable debut, that she would soon be repaying some of the 8,000 guineas paid for her at Newmarket last October. May need to come down the weights a bit further.

Second here last June but that run appears to flatter him. Has been nowhere near as good since and has looked a difficult ride.

Has finished last in two of his three most recent starts. Best performances have come March-May. Stable have been going well without getting a steady stream of winners. Rider is 12-64 for the yard.

Made all to score here last season and is just 4lb higher here. Stole the race that day and latest evidence would suggest this mark is asking too much.

Has three handicap wins for two different trainers off marks of 65-66. Missed the break from a poor draw last time after his blindfold was late being removed. Finished to good effect that day. Rider has six winners and six placed mounts from 23 rides for the yard this year.

Veteran who who has won 13-111. Now on a career low mark. Ran well in a seller two outings ago but back down to a more moderate level last time.

0-16 career record but has run well enough on last two starts to suggest he is no forlorn hope. Extra furlong is a help and small yard have been going well.

Winner of three races here over 6f. Form has been patchy of late and he has become expensive to follow

Forecasts

Classic Pursuit (4/1), The Yellow Bus (9/2), Inshaa (9/2), Flying Fantasy (6/1), Picket Line (8/1), Admirable Art (8/1), Light From Mars (10/1), Gulland Rock (12/1), Dominium (14/1)

Verdict

CLASSIC PURSUIT has dropped to an official rating in the region of his last winning mark. He finished well after blowing the start on his first start for his new stable. Mick Appleby is capable of getting a few extra pounds from a horse and he clearly has something to work with. Inshaa is yet to win but has been threatening to do so when the right opportunity comes along. His stable had two winners from a handful of runners last week and tonight's rider has been on board for his best performances. Admirable Art could hardly be in better form but this mark against better opponents will be a real test.
  1. Classic Pursuit
  2. Inshaa
  3. Admirable Art
