Ran well over C&D in January but has been a touch below that form off a 2lb higher mark in each of his two starts since. The handicapper isn't cutting him slack just yet, so he has a tough test ahead.
Won from a 9lb higher mark on Turf last season and may have been in need of the outing when he finished down the field over C&D on his reappearance in February. Having posting a better effort last time out, he comes into the reckoning as being potentially handicapped and is one to monitor closely in the betting.
It took her 24 attempts, but she finally got off the mark in a similar event over C&D last week; 5lb higher today but has fared well in other previous attempt over this trip, so may still have a little more to offer. Lacks consistency but has very solid claims if she can use last week as a platform.
Lightly raced since winning over 7f at this course in November 2015. However, she struggled to make an impact from a 5lb higher mark in any of her subsequent starts. Has to prove her fitness after a long absence and also needs her for stamina to hold out over this longer trip. One to watch this time.
Yet to win a race but is holding her form well just now. Has also improved since tacking a mile-plus in her races and, given that she is still potentially well treated in spite of creeping back up the weights, she is one to consider in this company. The draw could have been kinder, though.
Showed potential in his early days but things didn't pan out for him during his time with Roger Varian; much the same for his current yard and looks opposable despite slipping down the weights.
Slow to start when finishing in behind Vivre La Reve here last week but is 5lb better off this time around; the rider's 7lb claims negates things further and, granted a sharper break, he should be capable of getting involved in the thick of the action. Needs to stay out of trouble from his wide draw, though.
Races off the same mark as last week's creditable third behind Vivre La Reve (ran above expectations and may have got closer had he not needed to switch inside the home straight.) Also notable that he is just 2lb above his previous C&D success from last December, so is another that has solid claims on the pick of his form.
Never got competitive at Chelmsford last week and is better judged on her previous effort at Kempton where she kept on strongly near the finish (Pipers Piping ran no sort of race and finished last). She has been given a chance from her current mark, and is well berthed in stall 3, but needs everything to go her way, as this trip would appear to be the limit of her stamina.
Been kept busy over the last twelve months but has yet to trouble the judge in any of his previous starts in Britain and Ireland. Blinkers being reapplied may help him stay focused, but he was well held by Lutine Charlie when they met over C&D in January and again looks opposable on these terms.
Consistent at this level but is on a long losing run and this trip stretches him to the limit. Has the beating of a few of these but his form has dipped recently, so cannot be forwarded one to trust with maximum confidence.
The subject of a bit of a gamble in a weak race at Chelmsford last time out but did himself no favours by racing wide and hanging inside the final furlong. Still lightly raced, but is hard to recommend on that evidence. Also a negative that he didn't handle this surface too well on his racecourse debut.
This is the preferred option from his entries but he still has a huge amount of improvement to find and looks opposable at present. The fitting of first-blinkers is also off-putting.

Several of these are already old rivals and the likes of Vivre La Reve, Mount Cheiron and Lutine Charlie are quite closely matched on their recent form; the first named just edges the vote as the top of that trio. However, now that she has found her ideal trip, SHEER INTENSITY has been presented with a decent opportunity to finally shake-off her maiden tag and looks the percentage call this time around. Lord Murphy was the subject of a gamble that went astray last time out, so it would be notable if the market suggests his supporters are keeping faith with him, while Zebedee's Girl, a stablemate of the selection, is no back number in this company and is also worth bearing in mind for a place in the frame at least. The potentially well-handicapped Sublimation is another to keep on the right side for similar events whatever happens here.
